Games tend to take liberties with source material in order to get a more playable experience.

The TV show Kindred, how ever was terrible. Recently fed vampires can go out in the day (cheaper production costs)

That TV show, you mean, that the actor who played the prince died out in a relatively young age too, in some traffic accident?
on games and drinking vampire blood.

'funny' story.

I have beaten bloodlines first before properly playing redemption.

In bloodlines you are forbidden from drinking vampires. I think game mechanics prevent you from doing so but Sabbath is mentioned that they do that all the time breaking the Camarilla Law.

I remembered that piece of knowledge when finally playing redemption....

which means I did not try to feed on those dozens of vampires you have to fight in your first mission as a vampire (in monastery)

Therefore I kept running out of blood and only feeding on blood vials or whatever you could find in chests. That made each fight very very intense and that was before I even reached the boss.
I quit in anger as it was just too difficult. That was Aug-Dec 2006 period.

Second time I played the game was late 2011, five years later (I think late November).

This time I tried to feed on those guys. which made the whole level so much more enjoyable and fun.

I think it was around mid level when I actually remembered why I stopped playing the first time. One of my most stupid things I did in a video game. :D
Maybe there's hope! GOG's Twitch coordinator Outstar has just started a Let's Play of Bloodlines on her youtube channel. Coincidence? Probably, but I want to believe. Even if it is, she knows the game super well so it should be a good watch anyway.

Why not feed on them? Wilhelm even suggest doing that! A feed discipline of 3+ level is more than enough, or a Blood Strength just before using Feed! Also, besides vials there are rats, blood pearls, blood stones, blood pouches and even more blood sources! When you reach the point of learning "Theft of Vitae", you won't need to use Feed ever again, anyway! Investing heavily on disciplines is not a good idea, especially early games ones. Save your points for stats and go "Hack and Slash" on enemies, you can't go wrong! If you want disciplines, use them as augmentation, not main damage source! For damage, the feral claws is good for early game, but you should save it for the right moment (spectre type enemies)! Anything else is take proper care of from "Lethal Damage" items (swords, etc)! Redemption should be approached like playing Diablo 1 and using WARRIOR!

Actually, I think the monastery boss (wilhem, IIRC) was probably the hardest boss in all game, unless you count the final boss without freeze and/or blood steal. So no surprise to ragequit there. That said, I recall going back to the normal monks on the first level to keep feeding on them and recharge my blood levels.

Monastery boss was named Mercurio, a significant name with quite some lore behind, in the World of Darkness theme. In bloodlines he was the friendly ghoul in the beginning, though, in redemption he was an enemy, even if Cappadocian clan (allied to the Brujah at the time, supposedly at least) and the game's very first boss.

In vanilla Redemption (1.0 version of the game), he was the hardest fight in the entire game, indeed, for three reasons:
1) Had advanced disciplines dealing insane damage (plague wind).
2) Had lots of hitpoints and no way to freeze him (prison of ice), drain his bloodpool (no theft of vitae at that point in game, feed doesn't work on him either); also he could feed on you even if you wore the Neckguard item.
3) If you used awaken upon Christof's or Wilhelm's torpor ("dying" from enemy) and weren't fast enough to drink something and use blood healing momentarily, you would be one-shotted by that boss (plague wind or it feeding on you) and fall in torpor in just about 1 second, in succession of your being freshly risen.

A very dangerous fight. The one and only (official) patch, among other things, nerfed him down.
GRAAHHHH! I really want to play this game!
I suddenly want to try my gurps version of VTM.

KiNgBrAdLeY7: Monastery boss was named Mercurio,
Ah yes. Wilhem was our friend. I guess I was hiting the wrong guy, oops.
+22000 votes and still not on GOG. :(
When GOG gets this game finally, they SHOULD also reach an agreement for the OST CD as well... It would be a great digital extra, the best type of "Compensation" for all this delay it takes for Bloodlines to appear here and all!

Someone already posted a download link to soundtrack (along with deb of the night segments) in steam forum

The biggest problem with this game though, is it ends. F**k WHY!!! ;(

The elder vampires were terrified of my Gangrel. Lets see you do blood magic after I tear your arms off.

:waits like a Nosferatu for sequel: You can't see me, I'm invisible.

Yeah, but it is not the exact same copy of the soundtrack CD, found in preorder copies of the game... That one had a music video too, in the place of the 10th track, from one of those exquisite darkweave bands, whose songs adorn the game.
