O_O

Welp I can certainly say that VR gaming are now just a trend, a very expensive trend.
To the VR optimists, why will this work when 3D failed?
Meh I dealt with neo geo stuff for a while this price could exceed 800 on that system and depending on what game just a single game

Not that I'm a huge VR optimist but the difference between stereoscopic 3D screens and VR headsets is gigantic. The fail that was 3D TV doesn't even belong in VR discussions IMO. Traditional 3D glasses just add some plasticity to a 2D plane, VR headsets genuinely make you feel like you're there.

There are also people that spend $1000 on a graphics card, so I guess people that have a lot of money will have a shiny new toy to buy.
Not surprising as the VIVE was supposed to be more luxury than the Oculus.

The only concurrent now is the headset from Sony I think which is supposed to be the cheapest for desktop use.

The Samsung headset is interesting but works only with smartphones apparently.

I personally prefer Glasses-Free 3D Monitors over VR headsets.
I really want to experience it myself someday but I am not going to spend that crazy amount of money.

You know something is wrong when this thing is more expensive than buying an Xbox One or PS4.

Heck I could buy a decent laptop with that money.
Only have one eye so i don't have to spend any money on these 3D and VR crap .

Oculus Rift took the hit when "$350 ballpark" became $600, so fewer people seem shocked at the Vive's $800. It shouldn't be too surprising though, given the complexity of the technology.
So a VR headset from Valve at an even higher price. Three problems here:

1) Valve
2) Price
3) VR

But hey, let's see which suckers are going to buy this piece of hardware... that will probably be unusable without the Steam client because, uhhhh, valve!
