kultpcgames: Oh yeah, I forgot. But that's far away from many :-)

PaterAlf: That's why I said for example.

Also compared to your 2 games, about 20 from Telltale could easily count as many more. ;-)
OK, I've never had so many Telltale titles on my list. Maybe that was before I started my thread.

Then let's hope it continues like this :-)
What strange? The game is made by a spanish company and it is very rare the deslisting. Sadly i have not time to buy another copy to gift (i have it and bought a copy time ago).

PaterAlf: No, many more games that were delisted came back, e.g. Re-Volt or the Telltale games.

Almost all Nordic Games titles were delisted some years ago and almost all of them came back.
That's many.

But obviously the number of permanently removed games will always be bigger than the number of returning games.
And by the time I saw the delisting notice...

... it's already delisted. *sigh*

dnovraD: Has the GOG title retention team been drinking Rickeys?

Behind Candel, there is Teku Studios a Spanish game studio.
After this game, they worked on another title The Stone of Madness but they haven't given any news since 2020. We can easily assume that their relationship with their last publisher Merge Games has deteriored.
We haven't had any news since August 2024. And this game has reappeared signed by The Game Kitchen. Teku Studios and The Game Kitchen worked together to bring this project to life. (But is it a partnership? acquisition of the studio? I don't know, we will see in game's credits).
This is all just speculation, but maybe this delisting is due to the cloture or absorption of Teku Studios compagny. Maybe later we will see this game again via The Game Kitchen? Or not. And does Candle franchise belong to Teku Studios or to Daedalic Entertainment? No lo se.

mk47at: I don't remember how the publisher switch of Fallout 1/2/Tactics was done. The might have been delisted for some time as well…
Fallout 1/2/Tactics was indeed delisted for a while (after like a week or so of giving it away free!). When Bethesda came here, they released the games here as part of their initial push here. Those of us who own the originals have them listed with the (classic) tag.
Every store has games delisting. Steam probably has more than any store, Zoom platform got all there EA delisted not to long ago. But doesn't mean they're going to go out business.

Yep. Games get delisted all the time. Companies going out of business, trying to start their own stores, legal desputes... Plenty of games become abandonware given enough time.
Just saw this, crying shame that the deadline expired while I was at work.
avatar
PaterAlf: Otherwise with more games in the store more delistings are logical.

Which proves exactly...nothing? They are delisting the old game, because there is a remaster now. Sad, but normal behaviour for most studios.

In rhe past ( where you think delistings were rare, at one point the whole THQ Nordic catalogue was delisted, also the whole Telltale catalogue or about 20 games when contracts had to be renegotiated, because of some internal merger inside of CD Project. At back then it was a much higher percentage of the catalogue than the delistings today.

So as long as you don't give us facts (numbers) instead of feelings, I would say you are just spreading unfounded panic.

I noticed a troubling trend re: delistings so I decided to point it out, chat about it, and see what others might think. At the end of the day, I think such warrants at least a tiny bit of concern re: what might come of such re: gog. But if you and others want to think otherwise then by all means have at it.

Making a listing of all games delisted this year. This first batch is just from a net search and doesn't include all titles. Will add more as I find them. So (as of my current count) we've lost around 68 games , with about half of those gone in the last month and a half.

Frankly after reading a number of your past posts and responses this is coming off more like you are trying to make GOG appear to be a failing company. Last time this happened it turned out the person was trying to push people to another online store.

Can't poke a hole in what I said so you have to try and cast shade on my (admittedly low) credibility? I don't care where people shop...it's a bit odd how someone combing my old posts (as you claim to have done) doesn't know that.
