I just received a package from Amazon. GPU upgrade for my old computer.

I love the smell of new electronics in the morning. :)

There's a thread made for that. Plus most of the posts make one smile. :)

Yeah, the OP at least could have told us from what he upgraded, to what, how much was it and if it met his expectations etc. Otherwise, it is indeed just a blurt post that should be in the thread you linked.

From Radeon 6700 stock to a GTX 1050 TI. Best card for this machine without upping the PSU. I am happy with the results. This will be the last upgrade for this particular box. Next acquisition will be a new system.

My current system is eight years old. :)

I built my current rig 6 years ago. I upgraded the gpu in 2015 and then again last year to an RX 580. I added more RAM in 2016. I replaced the cpu cooler in 2017 along with one of the case fans. I replaced my mouse three times, keyboard twice, monitor once.

It's going to last me another several years I believe. The cpu has been wonderful. i5 3750k overclocked to turbo at 4.3gHZ since I installed it. Stable as ever. The SSD I got is only 128 GB, but it is still going strong. Along with a 1TB HDD.

I lost an optical drive and an old HDD. Didn't replace either.

I don't think I'll upgrade any more until I buy a new rig, and that will have to be a few years off. We're having our fifth baby in a couple of weeks (!!), and I have some... ahem... other expenses.

The only thing I might have to do is replace the HDD if it goes out. (I have everything backed up, so wouldn't lose anything, just be a hassle).
I like System upgrades. I run DNF probably more often than I should.

No, Dandified Yum, the Fedora package manager.
