So I open the page of a game, and there is the blue notification "Update Available"
In the menu, an option appears to install the update, and there is a possibility to see what WAS new in all PREVIOUS updates. But if I want to know what's new in THIS update, I'll have to INSTALL it first? REALLY??

I would like an option (like an easy and obvious link on the page or in the menu) to see what changes the new update brings about BEFORE deciding to install it, if at all possible. And if --Evolution forbids-- it is NOT possible, then by all means MAKE it possible, please!
I usually look at the changelog. most of the time it shows you. Sometimes, it's late to show up or it's just nothing lol.

Older games usually have language updates it seems like.
Sorry, but I ALSO look at the changelog... And most of the time, it does NOT say anything about the newest changes. At least NOT BEFORE I install the update. And in many cases even THEN I seem to have to wait two or three weeks before the changelog is updated to reflect the latest update.

And in this case, I'm not even talking about THAT old a game... Granted, Titan Quest maybe isn't brand new, but not too long ago an expansion was released for it...

Here's one for the books:

Today, I got a notification regarding an update for Titan Quest Anniversary Edition. An update from version 2.6 to 2.7.
Looking at the changelog doesn't help a lot, because the latest update noted there is for 2.5a!!! The log for 2.6 isn't even up yet, let alone that for 2.7...

I really appreciate what GOG is doing, but in some respects I'm sorry to say, they ARE slipping!

aye

and while it is not ideal and what you want, but until gOg does manage to keep it up to date, the community is again managing to keep things together

it does require a lot of searching, though....

Yeah, thank you for that. I appreciate your giving me that link, and I most certainly do appreciate what the community is trying to do there. GREAT JOB!!! But it should NOT be necessary to be this way, don't you agree?

Anyway, I've been looking through the last five pages, and seen stuff come by that happened all the way back to the beginning of this month, including an update to "Kerbal Space Program" that happened on June 13. But no mention of both of this month's TQ updates yet. With some patience, I'm sure that will come, but I'm not going to check that listing every day to find out. And I'm most certainly not going to search back into that thread any further than I've done just now. I got here for playing games, not for reading up on hundreds of pages of stuff, looking for that one tiny notification that should be available elsewhere. But once again...

Thank you for your reply. It is much appreciated.
And because I don't expect the GOG staff to see this, let alone respond, I'll consider yours to be the answer to this thread.

A game's forum often has a changelog thread.

Ah, thank you. I usually suck at search, so I wasn't aware. At least they got up to the 2.6 changes. Now let's wait what 2.7 brought us...
