muntdefems: PS: I only replied to congratulate you for your 5th star. I seem to remember the GOG staff promised "a nice surprise" to anyone achieving this feat. Is it (still) true? Have they gifted you anything? :)
No, and I'm not sure of any other 5-starrer that did so.

Soooo... did I just dream about the alleged reward for achieving 5 stars? Or is it GOG breaking a promise? :(

I think there is a mention somewhere of a surprise if you reached maximum rep (if I remember correctly) but assuming that's at least 9999, if not more, then no one has reached it yet that I have seen.
Plus it's presumably an ancient reference and may no longer be true...
Kinda doubting anyone's going to get anything for getting 5 stars.

Yes, it's still mentioned somewhere in the GOG FAQ, but if they were to actually do so, it would open up a huge can of worms, including but not restricted to -

Manipulation of the rep system

Why some people get recognition for an arbitrary number when other people's arbitrary numbers have been reduced by fuckwits with nothing better to do with their lives

Why GOG doesn't care enough to actually do something to improve the forum experience rather than going the laziest path of least resistance in depending on a broken system rather than instituting something that might actually work

That unshakable feeling you get that while the GOG staff you see around on at least a somewhat regular basis do care, higher-ups have decided that forum-goers aren't worth the extra effort, despite them being paying customers with tens of thousands of product sales to their credit

Yeah...there's a whole lot of shit attached to that subject, and no one's stepping up to volunteer themselves as someone who'll actually change any of it.

5. What is this “rep” thing on the forums?
Rep is the user's reputation rating, showing how respected and well-known you are in the community. You can quickly estimate a user's rep by looking at the number of stars next to their rep value. Getting one or two stars is fairly easy, while five stars is a serious achievement. Those who earn maximum reputation can expect some kind of nice bonus (surprise, surprise! :).

That's what I remembered reading, THANKS!

However:

1) That text doesn't actually promise anything for achieving 5 stars, as they talk about "max rep", and though it might look seem it by the way it was written, nowhere does it really say that 5 is the maximum amount of stars achievable. Well played, GOG, well played... :P

2) But anyway, and as CarrionCrow has rightly pointed out, with the blatant rep system abuse there is, I think it may be for the best if they decided to break their promise if that meant avoiding even more abuse...

3) Everyone on the staff either has long since forgotten about that clause, or was never aware of it in the first place. :P

That's also a likely option, yes. :)

It reminds me of Flashback for some reason.
This War of Mine: The Little Ones has been added. It was already released on Steam hours ago, so no idea if it will be released here today, as well.

Just brilliant. I bought the original game on GamesRepublic (which offered it both as a Steam key and a DRM-free download), to fully support the devs. How do they repay me? By making the DLC Steam-only on their store, so now if I want it I'll have to re-buy the base game here.

Unless it gets added to the Connect program, of course...
