Better get ready, because we have some exciting news – Shadow Warrior 3 is introducing an update; a major overhaul in the form of Shadow Warrior 3: Definitive Edition!

Shadow Warrior 3 is a fantasy action shooter game. As a player, you get to experience the story of a fallen corporate shogun, Lo Wang, and his former employer turned nemesis turned sidekick… Orochi Zilla. They embark on an improbable mission to recapture an ancient dragon they unwillingly unleashed from its eternal prison. Armed with a punishing mix of blades and bullets, Lo Wang must traverse uncharted parts of the world to track down the dark beast and push the apocalypse back yet again. All it takes is the mask of a dead god, a dragon's egg, a touch of magic, and enough firepower to hold off the impending cataclysm.

The Shadow Warrior 3: Definitive Edition update introduces new features and performance enhancements, in a reinvigorated gameplay. It creates the most complete experience to date with an extra kick added by the introduction of Horde Mode, available after finishing the main story; with 3 new weapon skins for those who can complete the challenge.

Now on GOG!
Sweet! Shadow Warrior 3 is an underrated gem. Quality over quantity.
Still too expensive for me, will wait for a 75% discount, there's just not enough game.
I look forward to it... eventually. I'm mostly buried under my backlog for a while.

Around the 0:44 mark, the trailer boasts about a lower price. Maybe it's in the pipeline.
Someone has to ask: Is it worth to keep the original version? Does the DE have any downsides?
For those that liked it, great upgrade... but IMHO it's just more content for a very very meh game. I loved SW2, but had to kick myself in the Lo Wang to finish SW3.

Looks like they tweaked it a bit and added more content, so no downsides I can think of.

The Chinaman with a penchant for Japanese swords and bad jokes had his sword polished in Poland so he can better polish off some more enemies.

It's just the latest patch. If you already owned SW3, you automatically get DE.
Still waiting for the 'proper voice acting from Jason Liebrecht' patch.
They'll add him as soon as he becomes Asian. It doesn't make sense to me either.

Might be the case, but I think they meant the price drop from 50 to 40 bucks.
I'll give it a couple more months and the game is probably going to get a higher discount.

Liebrecht was fine as a straight-man to Hoji's wisecracking in SW 2013, but he didn't have the comedic chops to be the quipster in Shadow Warrior 2.

Mike Moh has much better comedic delivery, and he nails the voice dead-on. It was an upgrade.

And while we're at it, recasting Zilla with SungWon Cho was a HUGE upgrade!

Shadow Warrior 2 didn't have the chops to be a followup to Shadow Warrior imo, I hated the aimless looter-shooter it turned into. Couldn't disagree more about Wang, Liebrecht had me in stitches all the way up to the SW3 early teaser, by comparison Moh's delivery is sloppy, flat and ironically sounds far more western than Liebrecht ever did.

And that's not even getting into the multitude of reasons that GOG won't let me discuss that make the recast rather insulting.

Well Shadow Warrior 3 is no longer a looter-shooter, it's one of the most tightly-designed and beautiful Doom Eternal clones yet made. The only gameplay-related complaint people had about it was they wanted more, and it's since added New Game+ and survival. It's the best Shadow Warrior game IMO.

If you're a fan of the series but denying yourself the best one for "reasons that GOG won't let you discuss" then you're a victim of your own ideology. Do you make fun of people who tried and failed to boycott Hogwart's Legacy?

The developer's ironic, ham fisted attempts at activism are only one factor. Shadow Warrior 2013 is one of my favorite FPS experiences. Period. But after watching more than an hour of gameplay, not feeling attached to the new Wang, reading how the mechanics work and seeing the sword mechanics being even further dumbed down than SW2 and hearing plenty more complaints than 'too short' from people who adored the first game, I'm just not feeling what you are about it and am honestly in no rush to play it. But I never said I never would, and probably will try it when it's on bargain bin discount.
