KetobaK: Yep, when the game was removed from Steam. There is also a Steam Post about it, let me see if I found it.

ssling: So the game is apparently not available on Steam since March but only now pulled from here. Strange.

rtcvb32: That and combine it into a single game.
Soulreaver was suppose to be a longer game, but they split it. Making it a single experience and game would let them add in things they originally had to take out and might not be present in SR2.
Yeah, but I meant for the entire LoK series.
They should properly compress it to a few games, removing excessive backtracking and reused puzzles, expecially for the last titles.

Mhmm. I'd enjoy going back a full playthrough with better controls and visuals; Last year i watched a overview of the story/history and Raziel on what was going on in Legacy of Kain.

And ignoring repeats of puzzles unless you had to. Though it would be more fun if you came across an already-solved puzzle, only to go back later in the past and then have to solve it...
I just backed up the game today and then I find this topic lol. Maybe I should keep it just in case the "updated" version has issues. Guess this means I'm gonna keep 2 copies once it comes out. At least the game files are small.

Oh wow, it just occured to me that maybe I should make a backup of the Linux files in case I ever switched. And here I thought I'd knocked out at least 1/3 of my games, only to realize I have 5/3 to go.

Been using Windows for so long, I wonder if it's even worth backing up the Linux versions. Sigh.
.
Updated control scheme maybe?

More importantly. Blood Omen when?

Since this thread has been dug up, does this count as "checking back soon"? Any relevant news? It's been over 2 months now.

Bump. What's the update on this?
So, any new info or can we just assume Soul Reaver is never coming back? Been almost a year and a half at this point for this "check back soon" notice :/

This is GOG after all, so it should be read as a "check back soon™" notice ;).

Considering other d3d7-based games such as HoMM IV have gotten the GOG wrapper treatment as of late (to bump them to d3d9 for better compatibility), I'd say some progress has been made. Though Soul Reaver's use of d3d7 most likely is more complex than what HoMM IV was doing.

Look at the Steam page. The blurb in the OP is just what the publisher told them to say. It's a good bet staff here don't know more than you do.

Now that the Legacy of Kain series has been sold to Embracer, things have become more complicated. I don't think we'll see Soul Reaver before CDE Entertainment (the new division of Embracer) assumes publishing of the former Square Enix games.
Now listed in the "Upcoming" section.
