Quake II needs no introduction – this 1997’s critically acclaimed first-person shooter and sequel to Quake has become a staple in the hearts of every FPS enthusiast, and, after all those years, still remains as an iconic title and a must-have addition to any gaming library.

From today onwards, when purchasing Quake II you’ll become the owner of not only the original, untouched version of the game that has been available for years, but also the newly released enhanced version of the game with improved visuals, all-new campaign content, enhanced multiplayer support, crossplay, controller support, and more.

Moreover, if you already had the original Quake II in your library, you’ll receive the enhanced version for free!

Check out all the goodness that the enhanced version brings and enjoy the timeless shooter once again!

Not for everyone. :(
I don't seem to have the Enhanced version in my library either.
Keep us Quaking through the ages, Beth! Thanks!
Amazing news! We didn't have to wait this time!
Thank you GOG and Bethesda for this release!
Is there any reason (other than nostalgia) to archive the old version as well?
This of course does not mean GOG should remove the classic release ... I am just asking for myself.

Same, probably a question of time to update all accounts if there are different servers to handle all the countries.

EDIT: And just as I posted it popped in my library.

I'm assuming this is not the same thing as the Remastered version that was also supposed to release today or tomorrow.

That was supposed to include a new expansion and Quake 2 64.

If you don't want the extra stuff, want to use Yamagi Quake II, the old mods and addons and so on (I don't know if all the mods are supported by the remaster yet, same with Quake Remaster, some don't/didn't play well with it).

In theory the older version might have a better compatibility when it comes to mods.
Hasn't populated my account yet either. Eh, I'm sure it'll show up eventually.

To be able to use it in source ports? *shrug* That said, when I originally played it setting up the music was a pain since it had to manually import every single track, and I'm not even sure I got the order right. Same applied to the original Quake. It'll be nice to have a version that doesn't require having to futz around with stuff.

I see it now

Edit: I'm not super fan of DOOM but I love Quake for some reason.

You may want to check out the trailer and game page. It's the same thing.
