snowkatt: but we still have to wait for somebody to contact us instead of preemptively blocking them on the forum
https://www.gog.com/u/{user}/chat and block {user}. You can visit said page without the user contacting you.

Ciris: Blocking is tied to account ID - so, even if someone changes their display name, they'll remain blocked on your list until you manually click "unblock" on your account page. Account history is also on the list of features we're planning on introducing in the future.

That's true.

Does blocking them also mean they can't interact with you on the forums as well, in any way? For example them not being able to affect your rep or see your posts and what not and vise versa.

That'll be actually pretty handy.Let's wait another 3 months and see.

doubtfull - never did before and by the sounds of it all they are doing is adding back in the same functionality we previously had.

Ciris: CLEARING A CONVERSATION
BLOCKING ANOTHER USER
- block another user + list:
good, thanks!

- delete messages:
umm.. why? Is this really needed?
If someone is a scammer, I prefer to keep the messages to remeber how he behave.
Also, if people starts deleting conversations, there won't be any sure proof for anything anymore. O_o

You can only delete your view of the conversation. So if I get in an argument with you, and I delete the conversation, you still have it to post as proof.

No, it does not - the changes I wrote about are for chat only. However, additional or amended forum functionalities, this one included in the list, are on the drawing board as well for a later time (that I can't yet confirm).

Well clearing messages could have other purposes. For example, if you had a PM conversation with someone that you'd rather....not be reminded of, for whatever reason.

That said I only used the clear messages thing once, when the old PM system was up. Other people's needs may vary.

And as JMich said, if you clear messages they are only deleted on your end, the other user still has them unless he/she deletes them too.

Glad you appreciate the blocking option!

As for deleting messages, this can come in useful as well - for instance, if you have a lot of old messages (i.e. from a giveaway or contest, or just a one-off conversation) that you got just once, have nothing more to add, don't keep in touch with the user, etc. It'll help in cleaning up your inbox without banning non-spammers. It's much like deleting an email rather than redirecting all messages from that user to junk/trash and never seeing them in the first place :)

Pheace: There's a Web team?
When you see the amount of people they'er looking for the web team, looks like they need some help (if there is even a web "team" and not one guy doing everything ^o^ )

Uh, ok then.

Btw, Ciris, remember the alt users problem too, please.
That's issue n1, because it heavily affects reputation and increases scam attempts.

We appreciate it because it was an important feature in the old PM system which was removed in the new chat system. Sorry if I sound ungrateful (which I'm not), but what I don't really appreciate is that it took you guys so long to bring it back.
