Stepping into the world of SNEG's classics is like embarking on a nostalgic journey, where memories of childhood gaming sessions come flooding back; but not only, as it is also a chance for the younger generation to explore what some of us once loved.

Let’s see what incredible retro adventures we’ll embark on next, soon on GOG!

CyClones
It’s a classic first-person shooter, first released in 1994. The gameplay takes place at the end of the 20th century, a time marked by devastating wars and widespread pollution that caused severe damage to numerous countries across the globe. Eventually, an intriguing revelation was discovered – an alien invasion, during which a significant portion of the invaders were actually clones created from samples of human tissue. These clones were genetically manipulated and subsequently augmented with cybernetic enhancements. As a player, you’ll assume control of the HAVOC unit, and be entrusted with a series of missions by the Earth government; with an objective to confront and repel the alien invaders and their clone servants.

Take No Prisoners
It’s a timeless top-down shooter, first released in 1997. The game unfolds in the city of San Antonio, Texas, portraying a post-apocalyptic world set in the near future. You'll assume the role of Slade, a skilled mercenary enlisted by Martech Industries, Inc. to undertake a crucial mission. Your objective will be to to retrieve a precious crystal located within the Dome, a fortified structure situated at the heart of the desolate city. This Dome acts as a shield, protecting its inhabitants from the devastating radiation that plagues the rest of the planet. To accomplish this task, you'll have to navigate through the chaotic streets of San Antonio, engaging in intense battles against a formidable coalition comprising military, civilian, and security forces!

Warbreeds
It's a real-time strategy game that takes place in a distant galaxy, where the Yedda, a humanoid amphibian species, has tragically become extinct as a result of famine, disease, and internal conflicts. As a consequence, the four former servitor races of the Yedda are now locked in a fierce battle for supremacy over their planet. You’ll get a fascinating opportunity to fully customize their warriors, equipping them with a wide array of weapons that offer an astonishing number of over 35,000 unique combinations.

Necrodome
It’s a first-person vehicular shooter that provides thrilling arena-based car combat, immersive driving, and the unique feature of being able to disembark from the vehicle and engage in ground-based battles. When on foot, you’ll be armed with a powerful tribarrel shotgun, enabling you to deliver devastating firepower to the enemies. Additionally, you’ll have an exciting opportunity to hijack damaged opponents, seizing control of their vehicles and turning the tide of battle in your favor. This combination of vehicular and on-foot combat mechanics adds depth and versatility to the gameplay, allowing you to experience intense action from multiple perspectives!

All that and even more, soon on GOG!
I suppose Mageslayer must be in the same IP hell that Heretic 2 and Portal of Praevus find themselves in, considering it was published by GT.

Such a shame. It is the superior game compared to TNP.

tfishell: Raven Software games? Did SNEG buy these from Activision, or did the rights likely revert to other people (more interested in re-releases) years ago? It's interesting to see SNEG apparently have more luck getting old games here from big publishers than GOG has recently, unless after Warwind (or whatever GOG's last-published game was) GOG perhaps didn't want to shoulder the task of liscensing/buying the rights to and publishing games any more.

Similar questions for Warbreeds / Red Orb Entertainment

In any case of course, it's very cool to see these show up. :)

Grargar: Considering that the original publishers of the upcoming games (Mindscape, Red Orb Entertainment, and SSI) were all consolidated under a single company (The Learning Company), the most likely answer is that SNEG snagged the rights from the same source that GOG snagged the SSI DND games. The Gores Technology Group, inheritor of the Learning Company:
https://www.pcgamer.com/how-gog-rescued-13-forgotten-realms-games-from-licensing-hell/

As to why GOG stopped? Perhaps the GOG-exclusivity was not very profitable and they wanted to release on Steam, but not under the GOG label. Perhaps that's why Oleg Klapovskiy (negotiator for the DND games) parted ways with GOG to found SNEG.
Interesting, thanks.
I love Necrodome, still have boxed version of that game..

GOG.com: Upcoming SNEG titles "Take no Prisoners" and "CyClones"

BreOl72: Take no Prisoners looks like the top-down version of CyClones.

;o)
And Necrodome reminds me of Quarantine - I hope that one would appear here as well, sooner or later :)

I wouldn´t see this as some kind of conspiracy, Matt Barton had an interesting interview with them not long ago, where they said the reason they started they own company is because GOG became too much corporatized and bureaucracy took too much of their time instead of spending it on what they love - making older games work on modern HW.

Tarhiel: the reason they started they own company is because bureaucracy [at GOG] took too much of their time instead of spending it on what they love - making older games work on modern HW.
That bureaucracy is necessary though, to get the rights to these older games, that they then can try and make work on modern hardware.
Now - wether there exist options to "slim down" that bureaucracy, is another matter.
But there are always two sides to everything...

I agree, but it sounded more like "company became too big and majority of our working day was taken by non-technical stuff and we wanted focus more on that."´Of course, getting the paperwork done (i.e. obtaining the rights) before they can start working on a game, that´s different and necessary matter.

That's what originally got me interested in GOG too. (I remember when Crusader No Remorse released and it made me realize there were a lot of potentially-interesting games I never knew existed.) Though I was able to kinda shift my interest to the Community Wishlist as may be obvious ;)
I'm always glad to see more older games show up here, especially ones from the '90s and '00s (my favourite decades).

I'm also loving what SNEG has been doing. Particularly with Chasm: The Rift and the Witchaven games!
And now Necrodome and Take No Prisoners, with even more to come? Nice! Please, do keep them coming. We need more of these! Well... I do at least, hehe.

Personally, I'd seriously love too see more titles from Action Forms other than Chasm, but if not I'll still be glad as long as it's older games.

;]

As for these ones just announced to be coming soon, I'm mostly interested in Necrodome. Something about it looks interesting to me, maybe because it reminds me of a game I used to play a few times back in the day called Ashes to Ashes. What a silly game that was xD.
And Take No Prisoners, which I first stumbled upon rather recently tanks to this awesome website: https://www.zombs-lair.com/index, and I kind of liked it. Also reminded me of other older games I used to play a few times like Machine Hunter and Re-Loaded.

Anyway, yeah... please keep bringing us more older titles! They will be always welcome here at GOG.

All quite trashy, but I would welcome all of them. :)
All quite trashy indeed. But you know what? I would welcome them all too! Well... I mean, most at least xD.

That CyberMage one has me intrigued. It looks somewhat interesting, I think.
Never heard about any of these really, other than Machine Hunter which I played just a wee bit a while back now.

Unless I'm mistaken CyberMage was Origin's second attempt at an FPS after Shadowcaster
But whereas Shadowcaster was set in a Heroic Fantasy world, CyberMage was a mix between Cyberpunk and Super-Hero comics.

I remember the game having good reviews when it was released but I admit I nevr played it. But since it's an Origin game I guess it must have some interesting qualities.

Shadowcaster was only Published by Origin, not developed by them that goes to Raven Software (Heretic and Hexen) who used a almost protodoom version of the wolf3d engine some of the art from shadowcaster even found itself in their later game Cyclones and Heretic and Hexen with some modfications of course.

Considering that these SNEG people were doing exactly that when they were working at GOG, until they left to form SNEG, I'd say it's not that surprising.

Anyway, I really hope they resurrect Drakan: Order of The Flame some day.

Oh, I´d love that + PC port of console only second game by Nightdive would be a dream come true.

That + Nightdive could arguably port even the console-only sequel to PC, assuming the game's assets/code wasn't lost.

P.S.: I'd also like the "tweaked" original to be honest, because I want to play it as I remember it, not with high-rez textures, RT, AA @ 4K.
