About 3 years ago I saw a short trailer for a rather impressive video game engine in development along with a bit of an explanation of how their approach to making a game engine was different and even though no specific game was takled about at the time, the visuals of the engine suggested that whatever the game might be in the future, it would be visually quite impressive.

Then - radio silence for a very long time.

Occasionally in a phone call or other discussion with a friend we'd be talking about impressive graphics and upcoming games and I would mention this engine I saw previously but couldn't remember anything about it to be able to actually find it or what the name of the game might be. Then after some time it popped up again somewhere else and I managed to follow it a bit, and eventually the game name was announced - "Get Even". I bookmarked it in my "future games" bookmark folder to periodically investigate from time to time but for the most part I haven't heard or seem much about it since then, nor have I ever heard people talking about it online in gaming forums or elsewhere.

I don't think I have a bookmark to the original video from 2013 or so, but I just googled around and found the latest on the game. It is now slated to come out in 2017 officially and appears to be shaping up quite nicely. Additionally it is a Polish developer working on it so hopefully they are from the same genetic trees that brought us other world class Polish video games that need not be mentioned. :)

Hopefully they're friends with certain other Polish game companies and so I'm kind of hoping that when this game is released in 2017 (hopefully on schedule) that it will be a GOG.com day-1 release. :oP

Since I've never seen anyone talking about this game in the forums here or elsewhere, I'm curious if anyone else has been tracking it over time also, as well as perhaps introducing it to others who may have never seen nor heard about it to date. Is anyone else anticipating and looking forward to this new game, and what do you think about the trailer and anything else you may have seen from what the developers have shown so far? Also, if anyone else has any cool links concerning the game, the developers, interviews or other materials please feel free to share them here as well!

From the title, I expected this thread to be about getting revenge on some Polish developer who made a really crappy game or scammed people, like Digital Homicide or something.

I had a bit of difficulty coming up with the subject as "Get Even" in a sentence can be interpreted in different contexts. Normally that could be handled by using italics or bold to emphasize it, or even quotation marks however emphasis doesn't work in subjects and I never thought of quotation marks. :) In retrospect ... Upcoming game "Get Even" from Polish developer The Farm 51 - would have been fully unambiguous. :)

You should've named the thread "Polish developer planning to Get Even". Even the staff would've clicked on the thread. The news would've spread like wildfire.

IIRC, the people behind NecroVision and that Painkiller remake left Farm 51 to form Destructive Creations and make Hatred and IS Defense.

It looks good, but then, there is plenty of this type of game out right now, and on teasers you never know if a game is really any good.
Weren't some people complaining that GOG shouldn't have released No Man Sky?. Well, they should have, according to the teasers...
I personally glad that NMS is here, and this one looks competent enough to be here also.

But the game is apparently published by bandai namco, so I don't think it even matters if the developers are blood related to GOG.

Yeah, I was mostly impressed by the engine graphics having great photorealism. That same technique is now being used by many games it seems. They use cameras/video cameras to take footage of real world objects from different angles to then generate computer models algorithmically from the footage, then enhance it with traditional modelling/art work. I forget the term used for it... photo-something, but it is becoming both affordable and popular for developers to use.

Hard to tell if the game is actually good or not just from the trailers, but the art side of things looks appealing to me. You do bring up an important point though that I hadn't registered in my mind which is that it is published by a presumably non-DRM-free friendly company so unlikely to come to GOG unless they surprise us somehow.

Will have to wait and see I guess...

Looks really good, but I don't like the fact that they partnered with a AAA publisher.

Pewds just put up an early game play video recently that is worth watching. It shows a bit of what the game is all about, although as is the case with the majority of Youtube videos the resolution limitations and video compression obscure the finer details the engine may have to offer. It still looks great though.
