It's been 20 years since we crash-landed on a planet full of ugly aliens, snazzy guns, and conveniently places power-ups. Today we're going back for a nostalgic trip FREE of charge!

Together with Epic Games, we are celebrating this anniversary with a 48h giveaway of Unreal Gold, the hallmark FPS that expanded the shooter genre with open areas, sweet weapon upgrades and, well, unreal lighting effects.

Grab it for FREE through our front page banner until May 24, 5pm UTC. If you already own the game, you will receive a code for a friend (needs to be redeemed before June 7th, 10pm UTC).

Then make sure to grab the rest of the Unreal series at 80% off until May 29, 5pm UTC.

Look at the list in this thread. There is no keys for Unreal at the moment, but I'd expect that some people will donate their gifts there. Just wait a bit and kindly ask, when the code appears.

neuroboy: Damn! It's not been Macified and I deleted my Bootcamp partition last month because Windows 10 update hell. Would've loved to play this again, especially the expansion. Oh well.

eric5h5: Just use Wineskin, it's easy and just works (no fiddling with registry settings etc.) Well, except you have to go into the game settings and set the movement controls to use WASD instead of arrow keys, that's how old it is! Way better than bootcamp, no rebooting and the game launches in a second or two.
UT99 also works great with Wineskin.

Fun fact: if you're wanting to run the Mac version of UT2004 using the version you get here on GOG you're going to need Wineskin anyway. Just for extracting the EXE though, a tutorial's in the Unreal subforum on-site here: https://www.gog.com/forum/unreal_series/run_unreal_tournament_2004_on_mac_os_x_native_works_on_ml/page1

I've been using the Native version just fine with High Sierra, but I'm afraid that in a later update the 32bit application support nixing will make this one (and most other GOG offerings) keel over for anyone who takes it. My bet is that will be the next gig mac OS version since they're showing small warnings about it on every 32bit program you run for the first time, so keep your eyes peeled for updates on that and don't take the big update if you can help it.

I think you were just a bit too late.

If you want, I got a spare code. Check your Chat.

Even though I claimed my copy on Tuesday it never appeared in my library and no code sent to my email address :(

No problem. You need to change your privacy chat settings to Everyone, since I can't send you the code otherwise. Either that, or accept my friend invite, and change it to Friends Only.

I just found out about this. Obviously missed the free window. Anyone got a redemption code to spare? If not, no biggie I will drop $2 for my fav FPS ever.

If no one's gotten to you first, there still a valid code here (bottom of post). There's some basic problem-solving to get past, but light math < $2. :)
