I see no problem. There are already multiple covers by different authors on the list.

I've just counted and found that I have 126 psd files which produced 155 covers. We were talking about changing the cover format but . . . I'm not sure I would have time to actually do the updates unless the changes were small. What do you purpose as a format? I know we discussed letting the community decide, maybe a game contest, but since the time required would be on us . . . I'm not sure that is a good idea. . . =)

I was thinking I would start at the top of my files, add the Win 7 logo / text (where needed) and possibly update the screenshots to the format I have been using for the past few months, change the game description to the new GOG format and re-post. That will still take lots of time to complete. I don't think there are many in the community that use the covers but those that do will probably want the spine to remain the same to be consistent with their existing covers. I doubt they would want to reprint the new covers but I could be wrong.

The things that consume time, for me, is finding a decent resolution cover image, pulling the screen shots and adding the faded image to the back. I would purpose that we remove the faded image from the back. It is the most difficult to find since the colors need to be a certain shade to not interfere with the text. I think leaving the faded image would speed up the process and actually make the text more readable. What do you think?

In addition to updating the existing covers we also need to produce the covers missing from the alternate list (not really necessary but it would be nice to have a single list ) and produce the new releases. So . . . we are looking at a lot of work . . . =)

I'm open to just about anything with a lack of free time being my biggest problem at the moment.

**Would we would need to update the covers that you and I did not create if the person who created them did not ??. . . something else to consider. This project seems to grow rapidly with very few actually using the covers . . . it may not be worth the effort . . . =)

Instead for some fixed format, we can set basic rules, like:

1) 1890x1260, 300dpi
2) centered cover image 600x800
3) same spine (with Windows logos maybe)

this will leave some freedom (e.g., regarding backside) while keeping consistency. It's just a thought, though.

Nope, others' covers are not our responsibility.
I'll have some time now, so once I make a new template I'll start working through my covers. Besides, we're not on any schedule.

Sounds good although I would want to use the full cover if a high res image could be found. I agree that the restrictions shouldn't be too tight as well.

I do but it seemed that it was usually just a shot of the cover image and I preferred a different image for the back. Finding the right tones for minimum text interference was the problem for me.

I'm not sure how many games are in the Krondor series. I will hold off on the "Combo Pack" cover till I can find out. They've got me a couple of times by adding yet another game to a series that I had thought finished . . . =)

Basically, BaK was the original, Return to Krondor was the sequel, and Antara was the "spiritual successor". Kinda weird of GOG to call Krondor+Antara the Krondor pack, it should be BaK+RtK.;P

Just wanted to say thank you all for the covers (every single gog game I have currently has a cover, case and light scribe disk and I wouldnt of been able to have such a cool looking collection without you's)

BTW, the covers are split into two lists, the original list and the alternate list (long story told somewhere in this thread). Anyway, covers missing from the alternate list are in the original list as is the case with Unreal GOTY. Even so, yours will be a welcome addition to the alternate list.
