Arghhh, the wait is killing me! I wanted to play it over the holidays - I guess I have to give in and get it on Humble/Steam. Well maybe I'll even re-buy it on GOG because as far as I have seen, I love it!

If you promise to purchase a GOG key for me (when Undertale will be released here), then I can redeem a Steam key on Humble (I've got the game there after purchasing it on developer's website) and give it to you now. Interested?

BTW, is Undertale Steam key region-free?

Looks like the game has sold over 300,000 copies on Steam in the US - now understandable (I think) that the creator can't be reached by email currently ;) - https://medium.com/steam-spy/preliminary-results-for-steam-sales-in-2015-43bb49a767bd#.osr2k02f4
I remember reading that the Unity engine saves to the registry by default or something, is it a Unity game?

Many games save to the registry. No, it isn't Unity; does Undertale look like a 3D game to you? :p

That's really nice of you, thanks! Yes, I promise I'll gift you a GOG-copy immediately when it comes out. If I don't you can post on the forums that I am a big fat liar :). If I should forget just contact me again - I guess we can do this via gog-friend-invite right?

But, still we don't really know If it is ever going to be released on GOG anyway.

The game seems to have no region restrictions. On the steam page of the game there is no notice about region restrictions so it should be no trouble (further information https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1266-QFZC-2141).

Fairfox: Has the dev not indicated one way or t'other about GOG? I want to buy the soundtrack bundle on the main site already, but not if it's going to appear here within a month or two.

It might be like Axiom Verge; a game I thought would appear after the initial Steam release that just... hasn't arrived.
Same here for me with Axiom Verge. Still waiting but somehow I lost hope for this one to get on GOG. Hmm SotN on GOG would be nice :).

Just because it's 2D doesn't mean it's not in Unity. Quite a bit of recent support in Unity works with 2D as much as 3D, although internally it is still 3D.

However the game appears to have been written in RPGMaker, which i certainly hope so since Unity has some horrible speed hurdles if programmed slightly wrong.

GameMaker: Studio, actually.

Thank you, I didn't want to call someone out for being ignorant ;)
For example Mini Metro is a 2D Unity game.

And not to forget TIS-100 is also in Unity... and i am not sure i'd even call it 2D... :P

As a note i've done some Unity programming and reading the documentation, but in the end i lost interest :(
