I pick first available site with the news I seek translation for or post interesting links from comments. Tvrain, novaya gazeta and echomoskvi are known for circlejerk of crossposting bullshit "radio said","tv channel showed","newspaper found" and they are not worth any time spent on them:)

Ukraine needed to have 24k+ MCM for safe transit+heating, according to both statistic of previous years and your ministers of energetic sector.
Started winter with 16 and purchased one additional.
When amount of gas would hit 12k MCM countries behind Ukruine would see drop in gas pressure.
With current rate of decrease it would happen in 1/(-0.1/day+0.042(purchase)) ~ 16 days.
So, yeah, transiter wouldn't be able to make safe transit due to bad management of Ukruine gas transport system.

Personally, I see situation on SE this way:
Unknown oligarch(s) during idiotic protests in Kiev used private army(ies?) for corporate raid(s) over Donbass. (I suppose there were at least 3 different groups, right?)
Owners of Donabss panicked and used lobbies in Ukrainian army to start counterattack. Civilians started to die as collateral damage, and grievous militants started to form around competent private army.(ies)
They asked Russian government for legalization and protection (remember those "this is genocide, save us!"?) but offered too small chunk to bother for.
Militants of Donbass(private armies possibly left the scene when Russia decided to not bother) don't like current government, because "anticorruption maidan" changed only face of president, but not inner spoiled structure and have nothing to lose and no place to leave, so they would stand till their end. (Joining to EU would mean economical death of region). Yeah, I know, "these regions are useless and live on dotations", Ukraine doesn't pay to them for 6 months now, so Ukrainian GDP increased, right?
I can't believe in "invasion" because Ukraine purchases coal, gas and even electricity from Russia now. Can you imagine Hitler asking fuel for his tanks from Stalin in 1942? And then getting it?
