Gremlion: Just stop for a moment - if Russia really wanted to invade Ukraine, we would've used paratroopers directly in Kiev.
You do know that Ukraine has an entrly level air defence agreement with Nato and has Nato air excercises in Western Ukraine. If you would do that then west would really have to go to war even risking WWIII since nothing seems to be enough for you people.

Ok, back to rationality

1.There is no invasion

2. There is mass desertion

3. There is Maidan against Poroshenko
https://translate.google.ru/translate?hl=en&sl=ru&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Flenta.ru%2Fnews%2F2014%2F08%2F28%2Fmaidan3
1. You're a fool. Linking to an unofficial and russian web resource.
2. There is no mass desertion. There is stupidity and treason of some generals. If you're constantly shelled, you'd want to withdraw yourself. I highly doubt you'd die there standing. Once again, same russian resource.
3. There is no maidan. People gathered to demand reinforcements for some batallions.
Stop twisting facts. You're making a joke of yourself.

Because western media does the same thing as in 2008 it is hard to find reliable info on English language.

Ukrainian ones.
First link has a source for claims.
Stupidity, treason... and desertion.
Third - http://www.unn.com.ua/ru/news/1379678-pid-genshtabom-natovp-vimagaye-impichment-prezidenta-ukrayini

yeah, because invading Georgia was absolutely ok and rest of the world should have been congratulating Russia. Are you f#cking high ? :)

You realize that linking to sites that have zero credibility whatsoever doesn't prove your point ? There are few major news agencies, UNN is definitely not one of them. It's first time i hear about them actually. Note that i'm not questioning the news themself here, i'm questioning your ability to find reliable sources for them.

The media in Russia are known to be heavily censored to present only information favorable to Kremlin. If you want anything resembling accurate news, you'll need to use sources that are outside Russia's control. Anything with ".ru" in its domain name is right out.

F4LL0UT: This is the most ridiculous thing I've read in a long time. Yup, because that's how invasions work... IN FUCKING RED DAWN AND CALL OF DUTY!
avatar
Gremlion: Um, this is exactly what you would do in situation where people protest against their government - overthrow it and put loyal one.
You do realize Putin's endgame is the coast (i.e. land access to Crimea) and he doesn't give a shit about the northern/western half of Ukraine, right?

Russian media in Ukraine is outright banned. So, their media censorship is even harder, right?

It doesn't matter if or how much russian media is banned at what place. Their "news" is mostly governmental controlled and therefor, not even worth 1 rouble.

When I need to read bad things about my government I always can read western media.

Can't remember anyone every truely claiming Fox News to be reliable or trustworthy around here. Can't remember anyone using Fox News as a source in this thread, though I admit that I haven't checked. But there's one key-difference to (most) russian medias: they make up their own mind. As wrong and one-sided it may be, that's still better - and Fox News are among the worst in western media.

Ahh. And i was asking myself how the hell girl from Georgia speaks English so perfectly and doesn't seem that much scared for a person that just survived bombing.

Thing is, there is no free media. It is too cheap to buy, and too good investment to not buy.
Only possible way for us to talk on hot topics - state opinions and look for flaws in them.

My opinion:
Ukraine is a fail state, which confirmed with zero growth of GDP per capita in last 20 years.
Their last revolution hasn't involved any big changes in rows of their oligarchs. Kernes and Yanukovich fled and that's all. Akhmetov, Kolomoyski, Poroshenko simply divide their belongings between themselves, like they did for last 20 years with USSR remnants.
USA uses this situation for making hysteria to sell weaponry in credit directly to Ukraine and to EU against "crazy commies". They even used the same tactic of "blame aviacatastrophe on terrorists" like they did with 9/11 to help Kiev look good. CIA director regularly visited Kiev for consultations. Kiev's regular army in so bad state that they failed an attempt to pull this off without f*k ups.
Now people in Kiev went on protest again - sure, there are tons of questions to "independent government".
Hint - dont try to get involved into conversations with not_even_wrong fools, as any rookie would be easily outskilled in stupidity by true veterans of it anyway.
