EDIT: But we do always try and give people on the forums as much of a heads up as we can.
But not everyone read the forums .

That's correct, but so far this has worked well enough - any queries always get directed to here, so people can follow what happens subsequently as well as get the full story.

The sad, though understandable, truth is they don't really want advertise that their catalogue just took a hit. They tell us, because we are the ones who might otherwise complain. Other than that it's obviously considered better PR to keep it hush, unless they can turn it into good PR by having a giveaway of the game before it's removal or something like that.

If they don't tell us, we'll bitch that why they haven't told us. If they tell us then some will find a fault :P we're a tough crowd.
I myself am happy for the heads-up and re-bought it.
Thanks for the heads up. I hope that someday GOG will do newsposts for these announcements instead of just forum threads. Most GOG users probably don't read the forum, let alone check it often and thoroughly enough to see these announcements in time.
Thank you for telling us before hand but it would be better if it was at front.

You're going to the front?
Thanks for letting us know.
Any reason to get this game (and other UFO games) when I already have the X-COM series here? I'd consider grabbing it in this case.

Different games. The X-Com ones are TBS, the UFO:A? are real time with pause. Storyline is the same in the same vein that King's Bounty series and Heroes of Might and Magic series have the same storyline.
I'd personally suggest getting the UFO games, but I do have multiple copies of them, so I might be a bit biased.

Sucks this game is being removed :(

MaxFulvus: Bohemia Interactive is the publisher (Arma serie). Sadly, they are pro-DRM : (
Given that Original War has yet to return I'm not holding my breath on this one coming back either :(

Just FYI, complete series has a discount, in case anyone was looking to pick this up as a set before the deadline.
Thread title made it sound like it already was removed. I didn't even notice the bit about it still currently being available until after I saw blotunga say he bought it again just now. :P
