AccurateArt: Anyone notice this part:

"3.3 Content Standards

In relation to the Services, you may not:

create, use, share and/or publish by any means (forum, public profile or other means) any material (text, words, images, sounds, videos, etc.) or Content which, in UBISOFT’s sole opinion, is unlawful, aggressive, threatening, malicious, defamatory, untruthful, pornographic, paedophilic, obscene, vulgar, racist, xenophobic, liable to incite hatred, sexually explicit, insulting, violent, contrary to morality or in any other way unacceptable;"

Not that I post in the forums, but what if I were to post something innocuous that another person finds "contrary to morality" or "liable to incite hatred"? Would I lose access to games at that point?
Not in if only 'another person' finds it as such. Only 'in Ubisoft's sole opinion'. But yes, I read elsewhere in the terms that you would.
I think it's time for Ubisoft to update their game collection here (rest of Anno series among others) and leave aside all this legal gimmicky stuff, since there is not even the sliiiiightest possibility that I'll pay them for anything outside GOG.

I know, I just meant that someone would likely bring any such content to Ubi's attention (unless Ubi is going to continously scan for items manually - doubtful - or with an algorithm that seeks certain words or phrases - more likely).

If they relied on the first method, I'd be afraid of uneven enforcement where one Ubi employee who gets easily offended at everything takes action against a user where another Ubi employee who has a different definition of what is "contrary to morality" does something a little different. The point I am making is that Ubi should be forthright as to what constitutes a violation of these terms.

Well, as above I said they can terminate your account 'for any other reason'. I don't think Ubi feels they need to give any explanation to anyone who has already clicked on the 'I accept' button. If someone hasn't accepted the terms by the April date, then they can't use the forums anyway. Solution - never touch the forums, and if you do, be sure to never voice your own opinion or beliefs on any subject.
Did they remove the AIDS?

micktiegs_8: my favourite, them being able to terminate you for the following:

you claim to be any other person or entity or present your identity inaccurately;
•you do not comply with these Terms or any special condition relating to a particular Service or Services;
•you are in breach of your legal or contractual obligations;
•you infringe a third party's copyrights;
•you behave unsuitably or reprehensibly on the Services, including, without limitation, on the Forums;
•your Account has been inactive for more than six months and you do not have access to pay functions; and
•or for any other reason.

*why not just say 'we can terminate you for any fucking reason we feel like'?
Read the Steam SSA, it is pretty much the same, just worded "nicely" (proper corporate speak).

Indeed, I don't know why this is a big deal. Typical CYA lawyering.

I'm not making a big deal of it. As I originally said, I've never read one of these things before properly. The following comments were because of such inexperience with T's & C's agreements.
I'm not surprised.

But it doesn't bother me because I don't use Uplay "Upay" or other similar pesky DRM nonsense.

But it is upsetting to see them tighten the noose around, how did you put it @nightcraw1er.488?
"(Loyal &) paying customer scum" :P

timppu: Hmm, there would definitely be a need for some app that proof reads legal documents/agreements and alerts the user of any potentional perils in there that the user should read more closely. After all if virus scanners can find unknown malware with heuristics and shit, why not this (maltext)? It could automatically skip the boring parts which explain in detail how to define a customer, software, llcense etc.
This kind of text is made by lawyers to confuse and trick humans. Machines will have an even harder time to understand the sense in it. The best they probably can do is to make a formal diff (at least at their current level).

Unfortunately they tighten it not enough so that more people would stop to use their "services".

The mere presence of a noose is enough to keep me away...

I wish they would just clamp down, but they know better. They took notes from Valve's play on using an open palm approach to get the masses to accept online activation DRM as the norm for playing PC games. Only now they want "all your base are belong to us" for playing. :P

The best way to beat them is to make it costly for them. Don't use their platform, or if you already have an account with them, play your games but don't buy anything else over there.
