Probably a mix of both your musings.

Hard not to wonder what would've happened if Vivendi had been able to swoop in on them though.
I've read that Ubi has been in trouble for a while now and all that's holding them up these days is government subsidies.

Jeremy is good for unbiased takes on some things, but he often likes to use hyperbole/clickbait-y titles/thumbnails as well from time to time. Did you watch the video? Does he list any charts/facts to back that number up? Thanks for any info.

This depends on the game. I know some(myself included) who love playing more titles in the same series even if they are somewhat similar(genre/look/feel/etc).

Not gonna watch a random Youtube video but there's no way in hell their revenue is down "94%".
hmm well take a look at the quality of their products coming out.

Here's a Forbes article that cites ~93%. It also brings up the latest Ghost Recon being a big bomb in terms of operating costs. I'd assume they probably spent more on marketing for it than they did the actual game but I've never played it so that's just an unfair jape at it.

Seems hardly like the end of days for them though. It definitely wouldn't have helped them when they were battling Vivendi's takeover attempt but that's old news.

"Operating income" isn't revenue. That's why I said what I said. Not sure which term the Youtube video uses. Revenue being down 90+% would literally be catastrophic. Operating income being down that much just means they had a really crappy quarter.

Glad Division 2 and Breakpoint bombed though. Less online service games please.
