tinyE: It looks to me like Ambrose is getting set up to main even Wrestle Mania and I think he is the closest thing they have to a reliable Austin clone so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
That would be nice but I'm pretty sure Ambrose is only being used to try and get Roman Reigns over. He's going to get pinned at Fastlane and probably turn heel afterward while Brock goes after the Wyatts. Reigns is the Chosen One and everyone is going to be sacrificed at his altar in Vince's misguided crusade to make fans love him.
I know I said I didn't watch WCW, but if I said that the WWE roster were more like comic book superheroes/villains in comparison to WCW, how accurate would that be?
There I was thinking this was about this: http://www.giantbomb.com/wcw-nitro/3030-7908/

That's what I thought but they've been pushing Ambrose/Lesner a lot (refusing to go down after attack after attack), and I thought Dean losing his title last Raw was just a little too convenient. Why take it away and give it to some mid card like Owens unless you are prepping him for something bigger?

I lost a lot of interest in wrestling until CM Punk and Daniel Bryan were showcased more prominently. I followed their careers beforehand in ROH, but seeing them in the WWE made WWE worth watching again for them. Too bad that didn't last. The only wrestlers I watch WWE for now are Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio, Cesaro and AJ Styles.

WWE has nobody now. they have nobody. is there anything for Wrestlemania? wyatt and kane are like the best they have. will Kane get the WWE championship reign he sorely deserves though? fuck no!
Got my Ambrose Asylum shirt in the mail today.

Oh yeah, I'm a stud! :P

It's always comforting for guest to check in and the see the inn proprietor wearing one of these. :D

darthspudius: WCW Nitro had great cruiser weights and submission experts. But Raw had the better program. Ironically, WWE these days is a much worse product than WCW. I can't even stomach it anymore. I miss the old days when people actually wrestled.
Totally agree. What completely killed WWE for me were the ridiculous 'plots', like the one revolving around the kidnapping of Vince MacMahon's daughter. What ever happened to the fights? I wished I could have just skipped to the actual wrestling matches.

darthspudius: As for Bret, he was awfully misused Though he did have a classic bout with Chris Benoit. Worth looking up that match, definitely a career highlight.
I remember watching that on TV; that was really great. I also remember a match between Brock Lesnar and The Big Show where the whole ring collapsed at the end. Man, that was great to watch.

I liked WWF era. Currnet WWE is generic and boring in my opinion. That company needs some new talented wrestlers and people with new ideas.
Nitro always had new and young talent who did more risky wrestling moves like jackhammer slam from the top of the ring down to the table outside the ring.

Raw was more about storytelling, rivalries and more established wrestlers who were good at acting.

I stopped watching wwe after Vince's daughter stephanie mcmahon started the whole cringeworthy language policing and feminizing the show.

Now it is too sanitized and not entertaining enough. Most people have moved onto UFC now.

What was created by the father will be destroyed by the daughter who lacks any business sense.

Stephanie has done a lot of harm to WWE. From lowering the salary of wrestlers to making the show excessively politically correct.

After the Attitude Era(which was the best wwe era), it was obvious that the whole American Wrestling franchise will be going downhill and that has been happening ever since.

Yeah I just hate her for the reasons listed.
The talent is there and the true star show is actually NXT.

What we need is HHH running everything. Vince runs the main WWE product but HHH has NXT and NXT is consistently better, HHH lets them actually wrestle and much of the talent there has something to prove.

The talent coming out of NXT to the main roster is incredible and would shine if Vince would let them. We don't need to go get talent, there is insane levels of talent right now under contract with WWE. What we need is someone with a better mind for is good now and HHH has shown based on his NXT product that it's him.

What we should be wishing for is more creative control from HHH on the main roster.

That being said I'm a WWE fan and have been for about 24 years now. I still love the show and I still watch every week and I tend to enjoy it. I think nostalgia sours the current product for many people unfairly. It's not as bad as some people make it out to be. You just remember a time when it was more fresh and more new and the fans weren't so cynical and nit picked every tiny tiny thing.

We'd all enjoy it all that much more if we were the young kids and teens that many of us were in the 80s and the 90 attitude era. Also we are not the target audience. Of course WWE wants me to still watch but I'm 34.. WWE's main shows target is focused back on younger children to early teens. Most of the show isn't targeted at the older cynical, nitpicking, self entitled wrestling fan.
Eh, my view may be colored by my not liking nearly any of the current WWE "stars" (including the recently retired Daniel Bryan) but from what I've seen current WWE is way worse than WCW was on its deathbed.

Dumb storylines including the ongoing main event "evil boss" storyline that they've been running for almost 20 years now (and has been stale for at least the last 17 of those years), boring characters portrayed by boring wrestlers whose only claim to fame is how many moves they can do and who make Gangrel seem like an interesting and acceptable promo guy, Michael Cole still being employed, I'm not sure how worse WWE can get.
