Hey there everyone, Turntable newbie here and I am having a problem with my current turntable that I thought I would ask people about outside of the people who made my unit to see if I can solve a problem.
Here is the issue, my turntable is making a horrid buzzing noise even when it is not getting any power when plugged into my receiver's phono input. I am using an older TEAC AG-V8050 stereo receiver and while it is normal for it to make some noise, with it being an older Dolby Pro-Logic unit that predates Dolby Digital, it never makes a buzzing noise like that.
I am using a Uturn Orbit which when I initially got it, was great but the buzzing came after I upgraded my cartridge to the thing from a Grado Black to an Ortofon 2M Red. I am dealing with rather low end stuff I know but I am just in entry level here for now, but anyways I sent it back to the company and they fixed the motor since that allegedly caused the issue but to no avail. I tried the cables they sent me today and even grounding my receiver externally to a power outlet but the buzzing is still there.
I do not expect everyone to know the ins and outs of the Orbit but anyone here that breathes the record player lifestyle, have you ever encountered something like this before and if so, how can it be fixed? Uturn seems to suggest other things and I suspect it may have something to do with the tonearm wires despite the company saying otherwise.
