I'm curious if this is a thing at all on here?

For years it wasn't here or anywhere, and I'm not sure where or when it changed, but recently I noticed Steam now allows you to view your hidden games and then click on a support link where you can request to have it permanently removed from your account. It's instant, not one where you ask and hope, if you do it, it's gone, unless you buy it again.

I have a lot of turds I got free, was gifted, or ended up being crap (to me) before the return policy was there or after the date and I would love to have all that disassociated mess just gone from my life entirely.

Can it be done? If so, begging, or is there a button I'm just not seeing either on site or through galaxy?

Edit: additionally permenantly removing a game from your account on steam also requires contacting support (you still have the licence otherwise).

Except on Steam the process is entirely automatic, as there's no reason to waste time with politics when you want to remove a license from your account.

no, as i said to fully remove a game from your account permenantly there you do actually have to contact support.
hitting through the automated process doesnt actually remove your licence.

No you really don't. Go to their website itself, not the app, and then go into steam support with your account logged in. There is a clear option there (https://help.steampowered.com/en/) and you see a few of your recent products, but below that is 'games, software, etc' and you click that then it shows a bit more, and then a 'search' box you put the game name in and you're given a 2 click option to remove from account entirely after it shows you what you have DLC and all if applies.

I've got a heap of garbage i'd like to have extracted without going through as the other guy said, politics and really in general bs wasting someones time. It seems irrational being stuck with junk.

I searched it, came up with nothing. That link I gave you, try it with one of your games, just click NO I don't want to do it. It has it all written out that if you do click the button your licensed is revoked and you no longer own it. I just checked it again on games I just revoked my license to and it's back to having a purchase button, not download so I would have to buy it again.

I wasn't addressing GoG, I was back on the part with Kobi about steam, they do allow it and that's what I was explaining. I already wrote them asking if they can do something or add a feature.
I'll never get why hiding a game isn't enough. I mean, it doesn't take up any space anyway.

I don't know about or can speak for others, but I know how obsessive some can be, as I routinely have to organize everything non-OS related in my PC into folders/subfolders/sub-subfolders/etc.

Okay, this is really hard to convey but I legitimately feel so uncomfortable knowing that I have a game that I don't like on my account that adds to my total number of 'owned' games that I often request for accounts to be deleted so I can make a new, fresh one just because of one or two games that doesn't match a mind-pattern I came up with for the week. It's a complete waste of money, but if I don't do it, I actually cannot play any game anymore and in extreme cases can't even go to sleep because my life feels 'unorganized'. This is the same for my email accounts which I switch every six months (though I have gotten better and have kept my last one for 2 years). Honestly, it kind of affects all sorts of things (I am the same with my books, clothes and so on).

I can't explain why man. On my Steam account I removed around 70 games from my library using that automated proess that OP mentioned, it's insane. In general, I have this problem more on Steam because a Client tracks your number of owned games, shows it on your profile and etc. etc. I don't want to 'leave any footsteps' of what I've played on some client that is tied to my account that is tied to this forum that people can see.

GOG is a bit of a god-send to me through the Offline installers, because then my mind rationalizes my GOG library as being a big bargain bin, and when it has a game I want I can "mentally buy it again" by installing it on my computer, which is the 'organized' space. And from what I know, nobody can really check what I've bought,.. I hope. Then, I can just track the games using what I've installed and backed up on the computer; again, without leaving 'footsteps' that would dirty my profile or otherwise disorganize some perfect pattern I came up with this week.

... I am really embarassed to write that up, but it's one of the reasons why this present time of account-bound purchases is such a detriment to me. Back in the day, i just sold games I didn't want on my shelf, got some money back, perfect! Now, it's lost money and yet I prefer having nothing for the money I spent than having a JPG in my Hidden section of my library... It's retarded, I know.

Well, if it's some OCD it's some OCD... hard to control that.
If you're so worried about being tracked you should probably set your profile to private too. Right now it's visible how many games you have and what you last played.

I have some OCD issues and other problems so I can relate(checking/cleanliness/etc), but I have to say this(in all kindness and not trying to be mean)-Get a good counselor and perhaps see if they can find a good medication for you if you haven't already. If it is affecting your ability to sleep and your finances(having to to remove bought games) then thinking about doing such is at least warranted at this point.

Hopefully you can eventually tame your OCD(Sounds like you have a bit with your email account) to a manageable degree in the future and be and feel better for doing so.

Wow, I wasn't aware there were profiles on GOG, great... Thanks, I turned it to private. Irksome how there is no escape from this stuff. It bothers me enough to know that I can see my own profile, but I'll try to ignore it.

Thanks for the kind comment! :) Appreciate it.
