Post here if you're trying to connect and cannot.

ok, how I got it working:

Run NWMmain as admin.

click MP (this wili bring up a message of firewall, you have to answer yes)

It will try to connect to a main server, which fails, so wait.

Then do the above and always wait. It might take a wee bit

This may be a useless suggestion, but have you guys considered using some sort of chat system or whatever that you could all join?
It might be easier to have real-time feedback rather than having to wait for the next forum post.
Of course, if this works, go right on ahead, I'm just thinking aloud.

When I click to Join Internet game I get a "Connection failed, try another Nick" error. Is that just because the original servers are down?

Yes. That's normal. Then you click Internet Game (I think) and then Direct Connect, then enter the info.

You create your character once you're in the game. Right now, you're connected to the server. I don't know what you see, but you've been connected to the server for quite a while. It should be at the point where you create your character. If it's not there, then something bad is going on.

LOL, I used XP2 and no problem anymore, and thanks forgotten to mention.
