Watched the trailer yesterday.
I don't like the appearance of Superman/Clark, I don't like how young Lex Luthor looks and - while I'm not a dog expert - I'm pretty sure, Krypto's breed is wrong.

So - definitely nothing, I will buy a ticket for.
But - I might watch it, whenever it comes to free TV and I have time on that evening.

With that said: I'm probably not the target group anyway.

I stopped reading Superman comics at the age of 11 or 12.
In my eyes, Superman had turned out to be a super bore, first and foremost.
Besides the first three Christopher Reeve movies, I also never went to the cinema to watch any Superman movies.
Those new movies? - I saw 'em all, but only after they got available in free TV.
Like I said: I'm not the target group anymore.

Lex in this looks distractingly like Agent 47 to me, probably because of that one shot of him wielding the gun. I agree about Krypto - in the comics he was always depicted as a sort of cartoon dog with a goofy Hanna-Barbera-like face, but if you were to adapt him as a real dog he would most likely be a mid-sized terrier or hound type. Short-haired, not the fuzzy little dog Gunn cast (apparently because those are the rescue dogs he favors - more nepotism!).

I don't particularly care one way or another about the guy playing Superman. Maybe he'll be fine. Personally, I've been reading a lot of Golden Age Superman comics lately and I've become rather taken with the squinty-faced tough guy look Joe Shuster originally gave him. He's almost like Charles Bronson in some images. I find modern post-Christopher Reeve Superman is a bit on the pretty side.

I do think the suit is kind of stupid-looking, though, especially in that it's relatively loose-fitting, which defeats the purpose of him wearing trunks in the first place.

Well, at least, they have one excuse for that: it isn't the first time, this happens. XD

But in all seriousness: the 1955 Krypto (or - more precisely: the 80s adaptation of him) is the dog I know (and expect to see).

Alex Ross talks about his fondness for that version of Superman in this video (about 5:50 minute mark, but the whole thing is worth watching). I think he's spot on with that description of a more serious, a bit rough hero of the WWII generation. I really like that interpretaion of Superman too, even if the Golden Age comics themselves are mostly not really my cup of tea, outside of some historical curiosity.
Always disliked the character flying. I guess the hot air being blown out the ass is enough to propel him.

It would make a lot more sense to have his people be outcasts of a higher dimension beings. Sent to a lower dimension as punishment. Then at least a touch of higher dimension, would explain his power. Still silly, but its something.

No.
All of this Superman talk has got me wanting to pull out the Smallville DVDs. Yes, there was some soapy, clunky 90's serial storytelling (alongside Buffy), but overall I really loved this version of both Clark and Lex.
Stupid question redacted.

J Lo: Anyway, I'm super excited! See what I did there? Oh-ho-ho-ho! What do you think?
Watching this trailer gave me something I had lost on super heroes movies of late:

"Hope".

Which is... something I always thought Superman was about since I was a kid after watching a superman movie and animated series later.

Of course they had to bring Gunn for that, which is fine I think, but I just hope the movie doesn't become a "movie inside a standup comedy show", nor a platform for 500 other movies, series, HQs, full of interconnected universes and so on that Marvel popularized.

Just give us a simple and good Superman movie!

I love that we are getting a Superman that actually inspires hope. The teaser/trailer doesn't say that much about his character, but I think the biggest clue for this is the kid in the war zone calling out to Superman. Just leaving him there to die would be pretty macabre, even for DC's darker stories.

Sorry for the tangent, but what does HQ mean? I tried Googling it but it didn't help.

J Lo: This looks like the first proper Superman film since the Reeves movies. Superman is the symbol of hope, I think most fans don't want to spend an hour and a half watching him sulk. Yeah I f--king hated BvS.
Funnily, I liked only the Henry Cavill Superman movies (and the other superhero movies where he was Superman). He felt so badass in those movies, while Reeve and especially Brandon Routh in "Superman Returns" were quite meh, kinda stoopid, like they had low IQ or something, gullible naive persons.

I forgive the Reeve movies a lot because they are so old, I am not even sure if I have seen Superman 2-4 but by the looks of it, they were even worse, especially Superman 3-4 have very low ratings at IMDB.

And yeah I actually liked Dawn of Justice, both Affleck and Cavill were so bad-ass and spot on in their roles as Batman and Superman. I even preferred Affleck as Batman, over Christian Bale.

I didn't understand many parts of the story in Dawn of Justice, but I really liked the dreamy scenes, like Affleck watching angrily at sky where Superman is fighting another "god" up in the skies while the mere mortals suffer down there, or the (dream?) scene where Batman is tricked and faces the evil (or should I say vengeful?) Superman... Oh man, the cinematic value.

I have no idea what is canon and lore and does this contradict something in some Batman or Superman cartoon from the 1936, but I couldn't care less, still such an exciting movie to watch and hear.

That Superman trailer was... ok I guess, but also a bit meh.

At least not as bad as "Superman Returns", but that dog felt a pretty stupid idea, Another bad sign was also that they reused the music from the original Reeve Superman movies, another thing I hated in Superman Returns which made it feel like a mere remake of the earlier Superman movies.

On the other hand, I like the actor playing Luthor in this Superman movie. I like his movies like the one where he played that psycho music agent or something. Then again, Jesse Eisenberg was also quite good and manic in his Luthor role earlier. Kevin Spacey was super-meh in Superman Returns.

Swedrami: Was out the moment he whistled and Super-Dog showed up.
Guess I'll be sticking with the more mature, grounded Snyderverse "Man of Steel" incarnation as my preferred one.
Imagine thinking the Snyderverse is "grounded and mature." Lol holy shit. It's absolute edge lord trash.

A lot of you guys oughta read comics if you want to understand what Superman is ACTUALLY about.
