W43, the last day of Vendémiaire: Barrel.

GOG's hiring manager is currently calling for a [drumroll please] Senior Social Media Specialist.

My advice? Don't. Social media is a downward trajectory.
Week [checks notes] 52, 2024!

So, good news and bad news time! Overall, there was a fair shifting of positions at GOG.

There are 3 outstanding job postings at GOG, two of which never got in any movement over two quarters ago.

Management seems to still be offkilter and AGILE minded.

But hey, look at the good of it all, GOG is looking to hire a Senior QA tester again!

Surely there'd be people queuing up for this one. If they weren't able to fill it before, I wonder what the issue was? Or maybe there's just been a routine departure or promotion for an employee.

I also noticed it has 'free psychologist appointments'. I've never seen other companies offer that!

It's quite simple: Why would you want to commute into downtown Warsaw (Next to a post office or sushi restaurant) for a job of which has little to no benefit of holding a physical office aside from getting micromanaged, whose Glassdoor reviews seem to suggest more a Glass Ceiling? Why wouldn't you simply take a telejob in Germany that has better benefits and potentially better pay?

Or considering the neighbors, you could probably get a job at Stölzle Glassworks that's more stable and less prone to the incompetence of market forces. I can imagine a machine tech for a glass company would be very rewarding.

Passion for gaming trumps the telejob any day if the pay was similar but yeah, I read that there were management/culture issues so that would be a significant con.

Passion for gaming is hollow and worthless. You should have a passion for bureaucracy, legal letters, and software development.

Especially as GOG appears to currently have the management MO of: "The beatings will continue until morale improves".
