hairydangler: I love me some Tower Defense. I just did a little search on gog for a few TD games I own or am interested in with no luck. So these recommendations are not on gog unfortunately. Defense Grid 1&2 are fantastic. For a genre everyone says is so crowded, why are there no other TD games that come close to this series? Why? Ive searched far and wide and heres a couple that look interesting but nowhere near the quality of the DG series:
Dungeon Warfare: Im having a BLAST with this game. Instead of a grid you defend a dungeon and instead of towers you lay traps.
Anomaly: Warzone Earth: Tower defense in reverse! You are on offense for a change. Im having a decent time with this so far. <EDIT> This game IS on GOG.
Heres some that look promising that I picked up on sale but havent played yet:
Shepards Of The Abyss
Gemcraft: Chasing Shadows
Thanks! Gonna check out DG 1&2 pronto. I'm really liking all the suggestions. Two Worlds: Caste Defense was fun but way too short. I've got my fingers crossed for Defender's Quest and these DG games for longer submersion times. Got my extended snorkel on and preparing to dive. Ta!
