It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Pheace: How exactly is it against those things? Far as I can tell from the kickstarter you were promised a digital edition of the game, not 'the Immortal Edition'?
avatar
GR00T: It's not, because any goodies you don't get on GOG can be DLed from inXile's backer portal. Not as convenient, and I understand why people want it all in one place, but you can still get it all.
Indeed.
They can do it, as it's their right. But I live through this with POE already. And it seems it will happen again now. Honestly, I personally consider it bad manners, as they can give the keys for free, and we are not asking for anything special. But they can do it, that's for sure. But that's why I won't pay more than the minimum at most in kickstarters from devs that I consider didn't act as they should.

(There are more examples of that. One of the recent ones being Duke Grabowski and the disappointing treatment of their drm-free backers. Obviously, if you are into Steam, you are mostly fine).

Engerek01: I cant even claim the game. It accepts the code and I see "Claim free Item, Expire Feb 22 2027" But below it says 0 of 1 items selected. However there are no options to select.
Yes, that's what happens to all of us. My take on it is that we'll get a special version of the game, akin what happened with Pillars Of Eternity. And it's not yet on GOG.

Or the alternative is a batch of invalid keys ;)

groze: I don't think GOG has done pre-loads thus far (maybe with Witcher 3?), so I wouldn't count on it.
The Witcher 3 did have a preload for sure as I preloaded it myself so I can confirm that. This means that the feature to do so exists in GOG's infrastructure and is available to publishers if they decide to use it. Whether a given game will use it or not however is up to them, and we wont know until they actually publicize it I imagine. :)

Now I felt special :)) (Full Pollyanna mode on)
if they don't do proper update/patch notifications for the backer versions of this I'm going to flip my shit

Don't get me wrong. I agree with you, having gone through it with PoE as well. I was just pointing out that nothing they're doing is against any rules, since we can get any goodies from their backer portal (nothing says they have to provide it all on GOG). This also one of the reasons I only back at the minimum level to get the game when I back on kickstarter/fig now.

Interesting.
Preloads are a lot more common on Steam, as far as I know, and this isn't getting a preload there. I have the backer version on Steam and they've said that it'll just start to update to the full version at the time of release. Sounds like that's the closest to a preload we're gonna get.

There isn't even an officially stated time for the release on Steam. GOG has a countdown but I'm not sure if that's just a generic countdown to 00:00 on the 28th in some timezone or another. There are various countdowns around the internet for the TToN release and they're all different. People asking inXile for clarification aren't getting answered.

I'm just a bit annoyed by it becauase I'm in that frame of mind where it feels like the game is about to come out any minute and I can't get into doing anything else while I wait to play it.

Ha, true, true. Fortunately Brian Fargo announced a specific time. It's in just under 11 hours from now. So, for example, at 8AM in the UK. In other words, the GOG timer is accurate (sorry to have doubted you, guys!)

Looks like I'll play another game for a few hours and then get some sleep.

Inxile customer support answer me and they are looking into it. They are aware that many people rather have their extras through steam or gog, so they're investigating that option.

Mnemon: Wait until it is released for everyone, officially. My guess is you'll only be able to claim once the relevant files / database entries are on the server. inxile just got and released the keys early.

Engerek01: I checked it after I saw greyhat's picture. Looked like he managed to redeem. Thanks anyways. I guess I dont have any other choice atm.
I was able to redeem my key with out any problems through the Torment backer site. As for the extra rewards included with the pledge tier they are available at the backer site. I cant say whether they will be available at GOG as well. But, so far InXhile has delivered everything. You guys should email InXhile if you are not receiving all your items. I have had good response from them when I have sent help emails. There is a support link in the bottom left of the screen shot. I hope everyone resolves their issues :)

I just checked my backer portal and found a new key for a backer outfit upgrade. It was initially not included in my pledge level. It must be a bonus they have added to backers. For some reason it is Steam only. I have just inquired about it at InXhile;s support. Another bonus they added is everyone who purchased the beta test automatically gets the full game on Steam.

sooo, if I never redeemed my beta key, I can give it to someone and they can get a steam copy of the game???????

Yes that was how Eric describe it.....but if you have not redeemed it you might have the option to change it to a gog key as well. Not sure. I redeemed my beta key right away. Later on InXhile gave the beta to all backers anyway.........:) with the option of keeping it on Steam or changing it to a gog key later. I guess that is why they gave an extra key to all early beta backers . It gets confusing and I am not sure how they keep track of it all. Just be clear the beta key that was bundled with your backer key is only one key not two. The situation I am talking about is if you bought an early, separate beta key. This would give you two keys.
