djdarko: Man, I regret not backing that Kickstarter, the game is going to be great.

Have they confirmed GOG keys for backers?
avatar
Reever: You can still back the game at their site, they also said they'd need more money to fully implement a certain area of the game, so you backing the game would be really helpful :D
Might consider raising my pledge, too. Maybe.
Very cool, as long as I get a GOG key for the main game is what I'm most concerned with.

I'm really curious how the bonus material will be handled on GOG, or if that's something that is exclusive to backers for those tiers etc.
what's the deal with the points for rewards, what is actually available?

IanM: what's the deal with the points for rewards, what is actually available?
Everything should be available, the points are just the value you donating transformed (32 dollars = 3200 points). You can choose your tier and rewards on their site, then. My gripe (and that of many I guess) is that you can seemingly only buy/donate another $30 copy of the game. Of course, you can choose to do whatever you want to with those points, but what if some people don't want to spend $30? Might still have yet to be implemented.

Oh, and FIRST GLIMPSE OF T:ToN

And hell yes, I got the P:T feel!! Yeeeeeeeeees!! Really can't wait for this game, dammit. I'm really thinking of getting all the novellas and the comics. That'd be another $30. But then there's also the new funding they want for that area of the Bloom....will have to wait and see.

Ah never mind, it's late:
Of course, we have to make the call so that we can plan ahead, so our time is limited too: we're looking to raise our total amount raised to $4.75M by October 16th! If you’d like us to restore George Ziets’ Bloom design and fully implement it according to his original vision, consider spreading word of our continuing crowdfunding (or increasing your pledge) to help us reach this goal. All of your friends who missed the Kickstarter can still contribute to making the best Torment ever. (And while the new pledge options aren’t as favorable as those we gave you during the Kickstarter, they are better than after we’ve stopped crowdfunding and are onto preorders.)
I thought there'd be some kind of add-on you could just/another kind of campaign, but they just want to increase the amount of money till the 16th. So me getting them novellas would contribute towards that...hmmm.

Reever: Everything should be available
I didn't back originally, just giving it another eye over. So the rewards are basically the same as the different backing tiers?

Even though the classic isometric RPGs are one my favourite genres and this should appeal, I absolutely hate the way these guys have gone about things. I can't really sugar coat it, they're liars and I feel like I shouldn't buy this (or Wasteland)

Are any of these rewards going to include exclusive in game items, characters, stories or other content?

Liars? What have I missed (granted I've not been keeping a close eye on this one yet)?

No, no exclusive backer content, only some creative tiers, like name in a tombstone, this type of thing

And what lies? The regional pricing issue with Wasteland 2?

They deliberately misrepresented the crowd funding campaign. I thought it was a poor start making so much of the PS:T successor angle - they don't have that IP and they make too much of this. I could let that go, but the killer blow was the turn based vs real time with pause. They admitted in the updates that they always intended to do turn based and would've only been swayed to change it if the vote was overwhelmingly in favour of RTwP. That admission proves bad faith and misrepresentation. It doesn't matter how well it turns out, the new game has neither the IP or same type of interaction as PS:T. The 50% that don't want turn based were conned.
So if they had chosen RTwP, wouldn't you say that the others would have been conned?

And they said from the beginning that it is a spiritual successor, since they don't own the IP. I also think they could have handled the whole combat system situation better, but ultimately, it's about the story and the atmosphere. Really don't know how people could get so crazy about the system...

People will find reason to complain about anything, don't worry. :D
I can guarantee that Monte Cook's Numenera is one of the most interesting RPG systems I've ever run and also it totally fits the atmosphere of a spiritual PS:T successor.

No. Presenting it as a successor creates an expectation that it was going to be the same sort of game as PS:T with different IP.

Looking at the pre-alpha footage, that's exactly the feel I get.

Sorry guys, when talking about successor I think about the essence of the game, which is the story and the atmosphere. And many other people thought like this - but also like you did, obviously.

It's just they explained why they thought TB is best and it makes sense. And I do think all these people will do a good job.

That's what I meant. That I get a PS:T feeling. And also, this team can't really go wrong, can it?

Ah sorry, kind of misunderstood with how you quoted Ian's answer! All's in the execution and I hope it won't fail. The crisis system sounds very interesting indeed. And people will get to play the alpha and beta versions again, so I believe it'll turn out to be a great game. Really can't wait for it to come out!
