This game's going to be great, but oddly the following comes to mind when I read the title.

So, you are hoping for Dragons? And for some weird reason their tails? Odd, but no worries ;)
Brian Fargo @BrianFargo

And there will be some #torment tiers that are only available on a first come first basis tomorrow. #truebelievers
Will it be isometric? And is there any word out so far about the combat? Or there won't be much of it (which would be kind of preferable)?

Anyway, I don't think I'll back it. The only one I did is Project Eternity, and the monthly updates reminding me how the game is still two years away are painful. I think it's best to just forget about it for now, besides, they'll need customers for when the game is out, I can be one of those.

I'm hoping it will have as much(or maybe a little bit more) combat as PS:T......heck i'd love it even more if they had two modes(one with more combat and one with less combat) or perhaps some sort of system where combat helps you along but where combat isn't required to win the game(so that those of us who like combat more can have it if we want and those who like story more can have that if they want).

Well, having two modes I don't think it would work, since the version with less combat would probably just have battles cut, with nothing in its place.

If other fans are just like me though, saying we like the story doesn't quite cut it. Because what we really want isn't just seeing the story, it's things like the Fallout games where you can defeat the final boss by using logic instead of fighting him, for me at least, that is a lot more satisfying. If they account for this type of approach, I guess we'd be happy.

Sorry, sometimes I misword my thoughts when writing posts/replies. I meant what you said, that it'd be great if one can either win the game via a combat-based approach/a less combat-oriented "intelligent" approach/a combination of the two.

Yeah dont remind me LOL. at least Wasteland 2 will be out sometime this year.

Thing is PST was not really a combat orientated game unlike IWD or BG games. More dialogue than anything else.
If this is supposedly the spiritual successor to PST then backers will clamour for it to have a substantial plot/story/dialogue.....

I know that.....I just want to see some combat involved(of the same level or a bit more than what was offered in PS:T), is all. ;)

I mean, look back at PS:T.....the game had alot of dialog/storyline, yes, but it also had weapons/magic(offensive and defensive)/combat/etc. Imo while the storyline & dialog were good, I also liked the combat aspect that was added into PS:T, and I don't think it'd be as exciting if this new game went the dialog/intelligent choices-only route.

Only one way is to find out from the KS. Cant imagine they have video yet. Maybe just concepts and maybe some video assets or something. Going to stay up and wait for the KS launch and see what tiers they offer

I might watch as well....hmm, I wonder if one can keep adding to their KS amount once they pledge? :\

If they do, I could start at a low level and maybe work my way up the ladder as I get funds. :)

From all the KS projects ive seen. tiers *are* set at start off KS - they can add, but cant really modify or remove them (i think), however you can generally pledge more funds and they will send survey sometime after project to confirm what you asked for (including stuff you added extra for). At least thats how Project Eternity and Wasteland 2 did it i remember. Both also have paypal options for those who miss the original kickstarter (obviously with fewer non physical options)

That was what I wanted to know...thank you.
To be honest the "Numenera" aspect interests me more than the "Torment" aspect. The whole Ninth World setting, "the Earth in a billion years time, countless civilizations have risen and fallen, and technology is so advanced that it's indistinguishable from magic", could be a very unique game and is certainly better than the dreary Elves/Dwarves/Orcs/Magic/Dragons setting that Obsidian is going with for their game.

I mean, just check out the art here:

P. cool,

EDIT: I'm assuming that "Torment" in context means a story where the main character wakes up with no memories, and then has to regain them, and as he does so he finds out who he truly was.
