Roman5: When they say that the game will be available in Russian, I wonder if they mean just subtitles or actual, voiceacting and everything translated into Russian?
avatar
nijuu: Subtitles. From what i have read (unless things have changed), there will likely be no voice acting. To expensive for the likely budget. If there is any voice acting it might only serve as an intro to certain charachters i guess?
Voice acting if implemented will be partial, like Planescape Torment and the other IE games.

I agree, 45k of the 50k backers will probably withdraw their pledges close to the end of the campaign. It's a phenomenon that occurs for almost every Kickstarter campaign.
Exactly. Never underestimate trolls.

Really? I haven't kept an eye on Kickstarter, where has this happened?

It was a joke. I doubt this has ever happened.

But it would be fun. Just not on this one campaign, please.

So you can withdraw a pledge?
avatar
Fenixp: So you can withdraw a pledge?
Yes. I remember doing that for the Pathfinder MMO demo.
The Scratches dude unexpectedly lost a lot of money when a high-level pledger backed out. Still made it, though.

As Whitecroc mentioned: It was meant as a joke. I tried to make the numbers very unrealistic, maybe I should have exaggerated further.
(However, if you interpret "almost every campaign" in a certain mathematical sense, i.e. "every campaign except for finitely many campaigns", the statement would be true)

Update #8. Can't copy paste all of it atm, not sure if it's a post limit or something else. So
TL;DR: New Reward for $50 Tier and $75+ Tiers. Brian Mitsoda joins the writing team. Third Fathom. More Stretch Goals, including best-selling fantasy author Pat Rothfuss! George Ziets talks about Torment’s setting and the Bloom (video).
I can't believe people would have the audacity to even mention console and mobile on a TORMENT kickstarter, as if they were laughing in the faces of the starving masses of a famine under the 'great leap forward', waving your greasy fingers in-front of their hollow, dessicated bodies, their dreams exaporating in a nightmare of the regime, and a bright flash of relief only just dawned on their tormented hopes (see what i did there ?)

Get away from us you filthy casuals.

(seriously though, it's just cruel. The PC master-race have feelings too you know).
