nijuu: Sorry i skipped most of the last few pages as my eyes glazed over with boredom over the offtopic chatter ;)....
No worries. All's good.

Crosmando: Well, there's a reason MMO's are only on PC, the chat-log and all that.
Not an MMO?

Miaghstir: Not an MMO?
Of course it's not an MMO, it only uses like 12 buttons and it's based on a crappy JRPG for the console crowd.

Exceptions that prove the rule, vast majority of MMO's are PC.
+1 because I am extremely pleased to get the chance to back this game up, and this would not have been but for this post. Thx a lot, JMich!

Indeed, should've kept the pace from the first day. 40-odd millions pledged at the end?

I'm thinking Activision, Ubisoft, EA, et. al. would be scrambling to make Torment-like games so fast they'd tumble over their own feet if that happened.

"We've had a really long discussion on the subject, and we thought: Wouldn't it be great to make a game that tackles a question of 'Why does our DRM matter?'"

Fenixp: 'Why does our DRM matter?'
"What can change the nature of DRM?"

The last 2-3 days will see a huge surge normally.
Big Kickstarters always get the majority of their money at the beginning and end of their campaigns, Project Eternity got 20-40k per day after it slowed down in the mid-period, and then surged in the last four days to finish just under 4 mil, and ended up getting 4.3 if you count the money through Paypal.

The one big advantage Numenera has in terms of budgeting is that they don't have to actually produce most of their digital addons and stuff, because quite a bit of it is Numenera P&P stuff which Monte Cook has let them sell for the Kickstarter.

Also, I hope this campaign puts the final nail in the coffin of the "10k likes on Facebook for an extra dungeon level" marketing gimmick that Obisidian used for PE, Torment is well on the way to beating PE without that, proving what is already self-evident, single-player CRPG fans aren't exactly social media savvy or even care about that stuff.
