nijuu: What struck me right away with both Wasteland 2 and Project Eternity is that both projects were planned and organized very well professionally. The presentation, the details, what they offerred and hoped for. They could have easily put a half hearted effort and still got people in on reputation alone, but they put a lot of effort in
I reckon it is one of the reasons why these projects are doing to well - undoubtedly less people would be willing to contribute without a proper "introduction" (but you are right, propably would succed anyway, however I think it would'nt be quite as spectacular).
Day two of waking up and realising this is not a dream.

Why should he? MotB was brilliant.

I'm guessing the Spirit Eater mechanic needs an apology? Not sure who to pin that on, though.

Wouldn't know. I think it added to the atmosphere, though. But if the nitpicks are that small, do they really need an apology?

Wow. I've already been using XE for currency conversions, just another reason to do so.

de_Monteynard: You are in for a treat. "A silence in three parts" was all that was required of me to buy both books (I am religiously waiting for the third one) and I think that Rothfuss may be the greatest fantasy writer of the current generation, if you could actually say that he's merely a "fantasy/fiction" writer.
I got disillusioned with it once Kvothe fucked the Felurian. The world's greatest wizard, the world's greatest lover and a capable martial artist... too much like teenage fantasy for me.

Perhaps...but that makes the character all the more interesting when you consider his downfall. Perhaps not the greatest lover, but certainly one that knew Felurian's name, otherwise he would had been killed like the rest of the poor sods she picked up. It also makes it more tragic since his new knowledge brings him even more misery as concerns Denna. So maybe it is not the most credible character development arc, but I don't think it detracts from the flow of the story, its progression or indeed the quality of Rothfuss' writing. Kvothe is supposed to be a mythical superhero, warrior god of old and he is telling the story that everyone wants to hear. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some embellishments in his tale to the Chronicler.

But enough of that and let us return to Torment.

Mary Sues are not interesting at all. It made his character rather irritating and unlikable for me. The downfall would have to be really big... at least getting Denna killed or something like that.

But you're right, this is not the place for discussing it.
