Habanerose: It just means that any games that requires you to be online (whether constantly or just log-in from time to time, as does Steam) wouldn't work without Internet Access.

And technically same goes for games from CDs that require Steam to run, even if everything you need is already on the disc...
Point taken.

Oh! Oh! Why don't we... Take Monopoly, The Witcher Adventure Game and a simple deck of cards to play... Solitaire? These count as games! And no client, nor CDs required!
- Minecraft with Technic Launcher, i think Vivacity and Tekxit can keep me entertained for 3 years rather easily
- GTA V - The Story Mode has a lot of entertainment value and a lot of missions, car customization, just having fun killing civilians and doing shootouts with cops
- Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines with the latest unofficial Patch so i can finally experience all the new additions since the last time i played it (UP 7.2 or so, quite a while ago)
Probably pretty much what other people have said:
-Terraria
-One of the Civilization games, probably 4
-Morrowind or maybe Skyrim.

Since we're apparently including board games it would be:
-Descent 2nd (not just because of the name...)
-Twilight Imperium (funny that these are by the same publisher)
-All of Summoner Wars

But if we're including board games, why not RPGs? In which case:
-Dungeons and Dragons 5th
-Shadowrun 5th
-Numenara? Maybe? I've only played the above two.
Wait, doesn't this prison have library and a gym? If I had to waste 3 years, I would spend them trying to better myself.

Gamewise I would bring games, that I enjoy to play again and again. Probably Ultima Underworld, Commander Keen 5 and Colonization.
I can't believe that nobody has mentioned The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay yet. :D
- Morrowind
- Demon's Souls (or Dark Souls if we're talking strictly PC)
- Ultima 7

If I had access to a 4th, it'd be Doom with the entire idgames archive current as of that point.
Terraria
HOMM3
Children of the Nile
- One of them would be a game I could play competitively / cooperatively via hotseat or keyboard sharing. Got a 'roommate', may as well share the fun.

- Terraria, just so I can finish the thing. Prison may be my only hope.

- Um, either Operation: Flashpoint or Mount and Blade: Warband, each with a ton of mods
Soap Football

I suddenly feel the need to watch the movie, let's go to prison.

rtcvb32: I would probably enjoy programming, probably an entire system from scratch in a virtual machine... But that's not a game.

Let's see... Any Level-5 games would last you a long time, but none of them are on PC, so...

Games that would last me 3 years...

A rogue-like; Tales of Maj'eal (has infinite replayability, although i'd want breaks for sure)
A long RPG (Either say, The Wticher series [tiny](all 3 games plus DLCs/expansions)[/tiny], or Morrowind+All Expansions and modding tools; Unlikely Baulder's gate or Planescape Torment, as the 1st/2nd edition rules are harder to follow/plan for in advance since i haven't touched 2nd edition in 10+ years... )
An action or mindless game. Probably Diablo 2 with LOD expansion and the Zy-el mod.

I suppose at that point i could make my own OS or emulator or chips in my spare time for fun, but aren't really games just an exercise in mental stability at that point.
Thanks for your interesting post. Yes programming would be definately a thing to do though i asked for games. And there re no system restrictions. So Pc, gameboy, xbox is all allowed. Maybe post the Level5 games you had in mind.
