And of course today GOG brought Stellaris, Soldier of Fortune series and Indiana Jones IM.

FML.

FINE! I will buy them tomorrow. FU.
As a german the SoF problem is easily solved for me it seems... I'm unable to buy.
No, I've played through my "core" collection of 69 games. Have 47 games set on "hidden", many of whom don't really interest me (got them for free, or bought them on a sale out of curiosity).
I've pretty much run out of games on Gog I'm interested in...have all the old stuff I wanted, and my laptop can't run most games after 2010 or so.

I could gift them for you and pay me the cost. But not today.
I have only 75 games on GOG and I am happy I don't have more. I concentrate on the ones that I really want to play and I mostly avoid trying stuff that are mediocre or could be a waste of time. There is really no time for experiments, if a game doesn't have very good reviews or isn't very probable to be enjoyable, I don't bother at all.

I could actually buy SoF 2... but not the other two.
My hottake.
An oversaturated market with games way too cheap and too long. We need to get kids having nostalgia for things other than gaming so they won't want to make games when they grow up. :P And imo we need shorter games aimed at adults but at the same prices of like 10-20 dollars - Gone Home, Limbo, Firewatch, Pajama Sam 1-3, etc. (only ones I can think of right now). We'll own fewer games but we'll appreciate more of what we have and actually finish them. (or at least that's what I'd prefer, games I can finish in a sunday afternoon)
Just concentrate on genres or games you know you like.

trusteft: How do you deal with it? Hmm, thinking about it, if you have the same issue you obviously do not deal with it either lol.
Simple, privacy concerns.

First you switch from Windows to Linux, because obviously.
Then you completely ditch Steam in favor of Gog or Itch, because clients are a bit iffy and the whole DRM thing.
Finally, Unity games can potentially incorporate telemetry and aren't very transparent in that regard. You can block that, but you know, feels a bit dirty, so in the trash it goes.

Now, ignoring everything else for a moment, because I really don't want to judge that, this WILL take care of your backlog.

Also hide games. Make some useful tags, so you can organize them nicely. Then pick about 20 or so. Games that you actually will play. Either because they're on top of your backlog or they're your favourites and you're bound to replay them. Whatever floats your boat. Make your virtual shelf the same as your real shelf was when you were a kid and video games were actually expensive. Then hide the rest.

There are apparently heavily censored versions of 1 and 2 in existence for Germany, and GOG seems to offer a German version for 2 but not 1.

trusteft: Do you find yourself having too many games, as in having a long list of games you have yet to play?
I have such a list of unplayed or barely touched games, approaching about 1500 games give or take 1-200.

How do you deal with it? Hmm, thinking about it, if you have the same issue you obviously do not deal with it either lol.

Do you have a plan?
I don't friggin know what to do I have well over 530+ games and have to get through them all and I'm bloody 35 I won't live forever (Why did I buy too damn many - damn advertising got me it did)
Not missing much until i reach 200 games, kinda feel like i am running out of games to buy for this weak pc. Beaten 40 games and played many of them but some are beaten in their original form without add-ons yet and aren't added to completed games as long as add-on is part of that.

trust me you are not missing much basically you shoot a chopper pilot in the head while moving on a SLOW train and you shoot a bunch of jihadists that for some weird reason speak perfect English with American accents and you get a magic twirly gun thing that can make things black then explode with fire around it!

Soldier of fortune 2 plays like a beta version of far cry

yeah basically this above is soldier of fortune gameplay

Explanation in this thread by Anime-Blackwolf.
4k+ games on my Steam account and growing >_>

Dunno how many of them I'd actually be interested in playing - probably close to 1k, but I'm not gonna bother making a list. Would probably take me a month or two just to put organize a backloggery and I'm never gonna keep it updated anyway.
