kohlrak: Internet vs tv, tv vs radio, radio vs newspaper, newspaper vs book... That's what's going on, there. Somehow, the old liars are always more reliable than the new liars.
BartonFink: That's uncritical cynicism. Critical scepticism is a healthier alternative. From what I've seen in the news, Russian trolls and their fake media are big on muddying the waters so that people think that everything is a lie, so, in the case of America, people don't vote, undermining and subverting democracy as a result.
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/25/video/russia-us-election-disinformation.html And you cite NYTimes of all papers which is currently in a lawsuit where a judge has ruled against them in a libel charge.
BartonFink: Firstly, you've conveniently missed my reply to your reply to me, where you naively want to know if any right-wing FPS exist. I provided evidence and proof of them in my reply to you, in post number 217, above. There is a tsunami of right-wing FPS out there. Like a shark, you've detected a left-wing FPS drop in the ocean of right-wing FPS.
No, i saw it, and the other person adequately responded that militarism is not conservatism. SO i didn't need to respond.
Secondly, you're replying to my reply to somebody else. If you read it literally, you'd have noticed that my comment does the exact opposite of equating Conservatiism to militarism. Actually, I make no distinction between which American major political party is or is not a supporter of militarism.
Except the implication of the evidence you provide suggests that militarism is conservatism...
Thirdly, I've provided links to sources and articles which support my position. Your approach is:
kohlrak: I have some sources telling me elsewhere that they believe the reason Japan attacked pearl harbor was because communists in Japan felt that Roosevelt were in the whitehouse when Japan inevitably got hammered they could make Japan communist
Can I assume that your "sources" are some of the more reputable tin foil hat brigade which still live in their parent's basement? Evidence, please, otherwise your comment that
I'll pass. I could certainly drudge them up, or rather their sources, but it'd be easier to wait ('cause i'd have to go through weeks of logs) until theirs is published, and i doubt you'd particularly care anyway. You won't take my word for it, but we know no one ever listens to the other side in a gog post. In reality, this is about the others reading the post, who are much more likely to try to follow up on this themselves and will likely find something.
kohlrak: the rest is history
is bizarre.
If our conversation can be likened to a FPS game, I'm the one with a musket and you are wielding a plastic spoon. The most you can upgrade that plastic spoon is wrapping some tape around the handle.
I'm guessing that you're a teenager or something. It would be sad if you're an adult, as you seem like one of those Americans who got duped by Russian propaganda in recent US elections. The Russians just spouted all sorts of nonsense without evidence and gullible Americans just swallowed it, maybe even swinging the result in the way that Russia wanted.
I'm not going to spend a lot of time in this thread, so I might not continue this discussion with you. Just try being a bit more critical. Just because a random dude in a You Tube video spouts a conspiracy theory, doesn't make it true. Ask for evidence. Make that "credible evidence". Breitbart News might not qualify on that front.
Nice try, but not goin' for it. This ain't my first 5 seconds on the internet.
Lastly, as far as your Japan story goes, I only found one 'source' which I got a hit for when trying to 'research' this subject. I can't say how credible the source is but the gist of the article was that an American who was a Soviet agent made WW2 with Japan inevitable. The American was a significant figure in history and Wikipedia confirms some sort of link between him and helping Russia but I'm not going to give the article that I found a free kick as Wikipedia lists the source of that article as being "far-right".
My sources are Japanese, and their side's a little more interesting. I'm hoping they get it translated to english, since, other than the one guy's bias towards christianity and america itself, there's alot of really, really interesting implications. It would probably bore you, though.
