so i made an old thread about my neighbor continuously slamming her toilet lid. in other words... letting it drop from a height, and it reverberating around my unit. now, it stopped for quite a time but its happening again. what do i do?

do i:
*ignore it
*write her a note mentioning (non-specific lee) a banging noise
*knock on her door and confront her

?

confronting seems too direct (and awkward), but writing a note is kind off spergy. and ignoring it is giving in.
I AM CONFUSED AND LOST. HALP.
I would check out Bastion. It's a great game.

...thanks?

but unless they have advice on toilet lid slammings, imma hard pass

maybe they do. i dont want to assume
Go full passive-agressive and gift her a spring loaded one for Christmas? ;)
Do you know why it stopped for some time or why she slams her lid? Is it because of some physical disability? Is she elderly?

What I would do is leave a note offering to buy and install toilet seat bumpers (they're like $10) free of charge and go from there - but that's me.

And then there's always the good old toilet lid slamming contest.

shes in her early 30s, or maybe even late 20s. we've talked from time-to-time and shes pleasant, but obvs its hard to talk about toilet seats natural lee. i mean no good can come from such a discussion, right.

i just dont want to be a weird neighbor, even if its appropriate to hold grievances
Knock on her door, sing her a song and go away.
She will be so confused that she will forget toilet-slamming for a while
I would stop by with a pack of these

Both of you can have a laugh and hopefully move on.

Change you WiFi SSID to "STOP SLAMMING YOUR TOILET LID, PLEASE!".
Hide in the toilet bowl and pop out screaming before they can use it.

Why would you want to use toilet at all? It's bad for digestion and wasteful.

Squat while you are taking the shower. You help the bowel movement and save some water. Two birds with one hit.

Interesting problem. ;) If you want to ignore her, then you should buy yourself a good headphones... :) I'd just confront her and kindly ask to stop. Is there a better way?
I believe in being straight with people and assuming they can handle it. But to avoid embarrassment, how about
you raise the issue of the noise, but feign ignorance of the source.

Maybe next time it happens, run across and bang on her door shouting 'are you ok?', like she may have had an accident. Or, perhaps something like; I thought someone was trying to break in. Whatever. Just something that tells her you can hear it.

It might take a couple of tries, but once she figures out what the bang you are referring to was, it probably won't happen again.

Otherwise, a polite note would be my choice.
