Really? that is even worse, "deleted" you say? I am not being ironic, what the hell happened?
The whole excuse about "oh before we didn´t been following the rules, nobody was here" but such a coincidence only that topic, (and seems than an LGBT too) were closed.

But hey, parking lots and guardians is a great argument as witches float because they burn, so they are made by wood.

By the way, if the thread was closed only for some users "breaking the rules", what if we open another "gamer-gate" thread? would be closed? What about another LGTB thread? Deleted too?

Another one can be opened any time, and remain open as long as people stick to the rules. But I don't imagine many people will be interested in posting in it since many of the posters from the original thread seem to come on the forums less frequently, and the noise will be quite high or higher than in the previous one.

I am definitively not interested in open one, or even write on it, as I barely written there since long time. That makes all this "closing" threads because "rules" (no, not really, but because PUSH) even more SAD.

My guess is that some users abused the "report as spam" button to force the topic to be deleted.

What happened is EXACTLY what I describe in that "ad hominem". In other environments (far far far, far away from gamergaters), LGBT can be discussed and even studied. But here, it was explicitely an "are you for or against LGBT" discussion.

These discussions are gone frtom the GOG forum. Because you cannot have them without breaking the Code of Conduct. For the reason I illustrated. Half of this "debate" is the expression of precisely what isn't tolerated on the forums anymore. You can swap LGBT with skin colors or religious identity, it's the same situation.

The answer to the "discussions" is given in the CoC, making them pointless and technically unmanagable. There are (creepier) places where it is all still being questionned, but officially not here.

It was a poorly worded, poorly disguised bait thread, that's all. It ended up where other bait threads deserve to go, imo.

Seriously now, can't we necro something else? We once had a fun discussion about whether cockroaches have memory. Or that thread with the awesome story about printers.

Anyway, I could point out another instance of a thread being closed. One year ago, I made a topic about the Pulse massacre; the initial post contained nothing but links to news articles about the event (which had just happened). I did not post in the topic afterwords (IIRC), but it somehow attracted some very vile posts, and ended up being eventually closed.
