THQ Nordic dropped an announcement trailer for Titan Quest 2 a couple hours ago. Developed by Grimlore games, who only made Spellforce 3 before. Hard to tell if they'll be able to live up to the legacy of the original, but here's hoping. It's not an easy task.

Shame Crate couldn't be involved. This is one thing they do GREAT. I'm more interested in a successor or spiritual successor to Grim Dawn than Titan Quest at this point.

Yeah, it being made by a completely new team with none of the original devs definitely brings the probability of it being great down but hey, miracles can happen. As Titan Quest is my top ARPG, I'm definitely keeping an eye on this one.

And about Grim Dawn, there's a big Grim Dawn update in the works. Not exactly Grim Dawn 2, but I am probably going to come back for it (probably already have like 1000+ hours in it, if not more :D)

Can't say I've waited a long time for this one, since I've only just played Titan Quest for the first time last year. :D
I think Grimlore Games are capable of making this one great. Fingers crossed!

My problem with Grim Dawn and many ARPGs is that they (mostly) feature a grim-darkness setting and often extremely dreary color palettes and atmosphere. Never was that big a fan of that.

In contrast, Titan Quest is often bright and colorful. It also helps that it deals with ancient mythology rather than the usual bog-standard denizens of hell.

Besides that, here are some more details I've gathered:

- It will not be a direct sequel to Titan Quest 1, which ends by gods leaving humanity to be in charge of their own fate, because the main antagonist is going to be Nemesis and you are probably going to work together with some other gods.

- It will take place only in Greek environments, so mythologies from other places like Egypt or Orient will not be present.

- The class system is apparently going to be basically the same as in the original (mix and match 2 masteries).

- It will support co-op online multiplayer. Emphasis on the support, so hopefully no always online bullshit. coughcoughDiabloIVcoughcough...

- Crafting is going to play an important role when it comes to items (affix manipulation, rerolling stuff etc.). Not sure about this one, hope it doesn't go for something like Path of Exile which basically has its own micro-economy.

- World is going to be fully hand-crafted, like in the first Titan Quest, so a big plus.

Hey, wait, there is no need for a new game. The first one is still good. It`s one of those 95% perfect games. Instead making a new game, they should implement my improvement suggestions, that I mailed them several times.

The first game is a great ARPG so, to quote the Sheev, "We'll watch your career with great interest."

I hope they have a good summoner build. So far on my first playthrough in TQ1 I'm in hades and doing a lot of running away.

It gets better in later difficulties. Summons receive big bonuses to health and damage on higher difficulties. Normal Hades is the biggest hurdle you have to overcome and notoriously hard/annoying for summon builds. Once you start Epic, all your woes will go away.

TQ has the most satisfying summoner build I ever played with Nature + Spirit. 5 innate summons + a small army of mind controlled enemies. Your job is to just stand there and support them with heals, auras and casting Plague. Easy, fun and you can focus all your levelling purely into defenses.

That's one of the reasons I like Serious Sam so much. So many bright colors and good action. Not the same genre but I also like shooters :) I have to agree, TQ's setting is very refreshing!

TQ2? I read that TQ1 expansions weren't too great, so I hope they'll do better..
