tinyE: Oh, I thought this was a thread about theoretical physics.

Shit.
Me too... Shucks.

4-vektor: German here, and I’m playing it right now. Use a VPN to buy it, or buy it if you are on vacation e. g. in the Netherlands if you don’t want to pay a few bucks for a VPN ;)

Lifthrasil: I know that it's possible to get around the region block. But I still don't like the fact that GOG decides to censor itself, just because of an age restriction in Germany. The 'index' doesn't even mean that a game is forbidden in Germany. For Steam&Co you just have to state your age, then you can buy it. The German government seems to be fine with that. But GOG decided to censor their catalogue and that was a bad and unneccessary decision.
You’re right, of course. I assume that GOG don’t want to bother with the additional work, especiall in the wake of GDPR, that this would mean for them. At least for the time being.

I've played through Timeshift three times. A few things to note:

--You can choose which time power you want to use. Hold down the time control key. It works like a shift button.
--This game is linear with some light puzzle solving.
--You can turn the hud off (which I appreciate)

I usually play games after a hard day when I'm tired. So, I enjoy games that are fairly easy and don't require much thought. For me, Timeshift works well for that along with games like F.E.A.R. It's a nice game I can zone out to and relax.

We need CODs here pls, at least 1 & 2. Since you do literally every single job at GOG, including biz-dev, I tagged you. (Judas, elcook, and everyone is all secretly LInko90)

There is only COD 1&2. After that it went downhill faster than a greased toboggan on a promise. Really can't believe how bad COD, MoH, and all the other shooters became after COD 4.
Singularity is a great little BioShock clone. Little more linear if I recall correctly, but basically the same deal. I enjoyed it a lot and got it here on GOG to replace the old disc copy I don't have anymore. Was happy to do so.

TimeShift I remember being much more generic and just "okay." It had some cool gimmicks and powers, and a unique look at the time (not sure how well it's aged), but I don't remember thinking it was some overlooked great game like Singularity was. I also got it here to replace an old disc copy though, so I remember liking it enough to play it again.
The quasi-Russian totally turned me away from getting Singularity. I would prefer they would use either Russian or English text but using those fonts for sure.
Still pretty good:

In Timeshift you can kill someone then reverse time and kill them again and if your good enough you can stop time steal peoples guns and listen to them totally freak out about it.

This thread made me seek out gggman's video reviews of both games to watch again.

I'd suggest you guys do the same. It's well worth your time. :)

I found both games to be highly entertaining although maybe a tad short.
Saying they're Half-Life 2 knockoffs is giving Half-Life 2 too much credit which in itself didn't break a lot of ground aside from it being overhyped.
One has pretty bad sensitivity options but I don't remember which.
Can someone summarize the main gameplay features of the games. From what's just been posted Timeshift sounds like that Weird Science Universal Remote episode where they get a remote that controls time.
What's Singularitys gameplay USP ?

Singularities one is you can fix broken steps and broken machines by winding time back on them so their good as new! that's basically what the whole game revolves around

this YT vid basically has most the gameplay in it!

I checked it, Singularity has terrible sensitivity, and if I remember correctly there is no way to fix it.
So if you are a player who usually plays games with 400-800 DPI, you won't like it.

Who the F*** likes playing games with a mouse sensitivity THAT LOW?
