So it's your first playthrough. Nice. I feel that Invisible War is the weakest game in the series but still worth giving a go.

I like Mankind Divided as well, it's just quite a time consuming game if you get side-tracked with side missions or just exploring, not to mention the DLCs, so I don't play it much. I think Embracer will get Eidos working on the Mankind Divided follow up, it just seems like the most likely possibility.

Having finished Deus Ex: GOTY Edition, I'm signing myself up for Deus Ex: Invisible War.

Last night I played around 30 min of Deus Ex: Invisible War just to have a first impression of the game. Coming off from the original Deus Ex, it's impossible not to see the differences.

- HUD occupies a lot of the screen.
- Levels are way shorter due to this also being on Xbox and having to make sacrifices to run on console.
- The gameplay seems a little off. I think is the mouse movement.
- Graphics are supposed to be better, but I kind prefer the style of the original. The character's faces are weird.

I played very little but I just noticed this. I know this game is the black sheep of the franchise and I'm kind of getting the first taste of why that is.

But anyway, I can accept a game for what it is, and this one is no different so I will continue playing it, of course. By the end, I'll probably won't like it as much as the original, but if I had fun, that's what matters.

They're also much smaller than the levels in DX1. This is also a precedent set by the PS2 version of DX1, which I believe splits some of the levels across several maps due to hardware limitations. It's undeniably disappointing for a sequel.

I remember having a similar issue last time I played it, but I can't remember how (or if) I fixed it. The PC Gaming Wiki links to some useful fixes for modern hardware, as with DX1. Anyway, you might have noticed how hilarious the ragdoll physics are in DX2. Also the enemies can feel like bullet sponges on the lower difficulties.

I've been playing DX1 a bit over the past few days. I'm still in the NYC part (after the warehouse generator mission) so I won't get to DX2 for a while.

I played and finished Freedom Fighters.

It's a squad based shooter. You're in command of a team, but controls and your tactical choices are very basic. I liked the atmosphere and music. The game looks ok and supports modern screen resolutions out of the box. I'd say it was fun, although not very challenging (I chose the second easiest difficulty level out of four).

I played it last November, I think. I agree that the game is very basic, but has great atmosphere. It's a shame we never got a sequel.

I finished playing the first two areas in Deus Ex: Invisible War, Seattle and Mako Ballistics.

Seattle overall was ok. Not that many great objectives to complete and also left some side ones undone since they required me to be a murder and I didn't want to.

Mako Ballistics was way better. Infiltrating the complex and move inside it without being detected is what I like the most on these games.

I'm having fun with Invisible War, but it still has to grab me the same way the original did.

I'm playing Freelancer. That's not my first playthtrough, and not the last. ;)

Two more areas cleared in Deus Ex:Invisible War - Cairo, Egypt and Trier, Germany.
I ended up enjoying these two locations more than Seattle. I honestly think they're not that better in terms of objectives, but being more familiarised with the game helped getting the feeling that things flow better.

Some revelations were made and now the next area, Antartica, promises to be stage of an exciting encounter...

That's basically what I think of it as well. It has a few features of its own that I like. Having to find a pilot yourself and that determining where you start in the next area is cool. I wouldn't mind seeing something like that again with a bit more depth (and more than just two pilots). I also like the changes to the weapon mod system, and especially the glass destabilizer mod, which I use a lot. Even if that was in Deus Ex 1 it would have been useful.

Anyway, congrats for completing it. I recall some of the late game enemies like the Templar paladins or Illuminati troopers actually being quite nasty to deal with, at least on the higher difficulties.

I ended up always using Ava as my pilot, not only because she was free, but also because she was also more enigmatic and wanted to know what was up with her.

Yeah the weapon mods were cool. Silencer and the glass destabiliser were a must on my playthrough.

Also, being able to change biomods were cool. However, it can also make the game very easy and throws away the challenge of having to live with what you decided to install. In the first game there were times where I had to approach things differently because I didn't have the best augmentations. Here, that's not a problem.

Yeah the Templar Paladins, the ones with armour were tough. But since I always used a stealth approach, I mostly avoided them. As for the rest of the enemies, a sniper shot was always more than enough :)
