It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

The main menu background displays, but none of the menu items or game title do, and nothing is interactable. The only thing to do at that point is to ALT-F4. Anyone know anything about this?

EDIT:
System: WIN10, Intel Core i7-10700KF, 32 GB DDR4 3000 RAM, NVIDIA RTX 3070 EVGA

-Troubleshooting steps: Make a change, load game. Quit to menu.
-Ran Verify/Repair. Problem persists.
-Turned Galaxy off and started from the "PlagueProject-Win64-Shipping.exe" Problem persists.
-Deleted save game in slot 2. problem persists.
-Restored Save game in slot 2, deleted save game in slot 1. Problem persists.
-uninstalled game with Geek Uninstaller. Reinstalled game from offline installer. Run with Galaxy off, from "PlagueProject-Win64-Shipping.exe". Problem has disappeared.
-Restarted Galaxy. Launch game through Galaxy. Problem returns.
-Start game from "PlagueProject-Win64-Shipping.exe" again. Problem persists.
-Disabled Galaxy Overlay, problem persists.
-Disabled all other overlays, problem persists.
-Switched to Full Screen from Borderless. Problem persists.
-Adjusted resolution to native. Problem persists. Restored overlays, resolutions, and Borderless mode.

Hypothesis: Galaxy changes something in the game files when it hooks into the game that prevents the main menu from loading when returning to the menu from the game.

Can GOG look into this and see what is happening?

Only happens to me if I use Galaxy. Running Windows 7.
Submitted a ticket to Team 17. Will submit one to GOG. Have not approached OverBorder Studios yet.

Maybe deactivate Galaxy Overlay in options and try again? (Or some / all of the other Galaxy in-game features.)

I can try, but the problem occurs even when Galaxy isn't active after it has been used once. But I will try that thanks.
This also did not fix the issue.

If you're using them, windowed and borderless modes have generally been known to cause this in combination with overlays and other UI stuff, here and there.

Issue is resolved by a patch update to the game.
