I didn't like the Wii-U because of the price, and for the fact the tablet controller was too big. I stuck with the Wii. Now that I saw what the Switch was about, I have to admit I am skeptical and on the fence. I have been a purchaser of Nintendo home consoles, all of them except SNES and Wii U.

The Switch to me is just the updated version of a Wii U, they said it wouldn't just be an updated form of Wii or Wii U, but, we have the motion controls still present, Amibo function like the Wii U, we have the tablet controller, which can be taken outside the home (updated form of Wii U tablet), and can dock and display at home.

I mean its great you can finally take your games on the go, and based on the trailer it seems seamless to transition between home console, to handheld device.

My only qualm is, I don't like handheld gaming, which is why I also didn't want a Wii U, it seemed to handheld for me, and now the Switch is a hybrid handheld device.

I am on the fence, I am not saying I wont buy it, I KNEW I wasn't buying a Wii U, but I might get this, depends on price point, games, etc. Right now rumor has a price point of $300-350 which to me, is expensive. Hopefully, that rumor is untrue, and the Switch launches with a price point of around $200.

Yeah I know this is a more better version than the Wii U, you can take your games out of the house. It seems the general market for this is younger crowd (not kids), young adults, teens, etc. People that like mobile devices, and always on the go. Very nice concept, at least it looks seamless transition between the dock and the handheld.

The games so far, Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, are revamped versions of wii U titles they said. It seems they are getting the hang of HD visuals, and since Nintendo thrives in the handheld market (Gameboy, DS, 3DS etc) this is a smart marketing move to combine home and mobile. I just am not too thrilled with mobile devices, I don't have a smartphone, nor any devices that are "handheld" for gaming.

Like I said, I am on the fence still... don't know if its for me, but I can see, this is way better than the Wii U!

Trouble is though, the mobile market and console/PC market are fairly different, and the same game rarely do well in both, which may be one reason why the PSP and PS Vita didn't do that well (they primarily tried to take the console games to mobile rather than trying to focus on mobile-friendly games). And thus far I haven't seen anything that looks like a "mobile" game on the Switch, which is why I think they're trying to focus on the home console thing and giving that the option to become portable - but of course I may be mistaken.

I think the NS looks great and will probably pick one up next year, whenever they start rolling the deals out. I'm someone who enjoys coutch co-op and drinking with friends in person, rather than playing over the internet. That's why I have had way more enjoyment and memeories out of my Wii U over my Ps4. With the exception of Call of Duty, it's hard to find consel games that have coutch co-op. Other than Splatoon, which I hope gets it on the NS, almost every Nintendo game has this.

If sony decides they want to charge me to repair my ps4 of not even 6 months, then I might just scrap what I can and use the money for the NS.

Not sure if this was posted around these parts yet, but I just came across the first showing of the Switch during a Jimmy Fallon segment over a week ago.

Looks pretty damn small in its portable form. Not much bigger than the Wii U pad it seems... I chuckled when Reggie exclaims that it's neat "any place you see you can get to." Oh, Nintendo, always way behind everybody else. Open world games are not exactly new. =P

They can't really be left behind since Super Mario 64 is revolutionary and is the first to do 3D Open World. They just haven't done it as much as they used to.

I've been looking forward to this event for a while now. The teaser certainly left a lot of people with a positive early impression. We'll see if Nintendo can further solidify that with this presentation and subsequent events.

This may sound like hyperbole, but if the Switch manages to succeed, it could very well reshape the entire game console market.

After some glimpse of hope with the rumour of the 250€ price tag which emerged a few days ago, it's quite a cold shower that Euro customers got this morning.

Nintendo switch is listed at 350€ on Amazon, urgh..... :((((

Wihile the PS4 Slim is listed at 280€ and already has a huge (and cheaper if we go with discount/second-hand) catalog of games.
