Cool concept. Nothing new, but if it works, damn, props for 'em.

My thoughts:

- No kids in the video. Nintendo... no kids.... huuuuuuuuuum
- Targeted for... millenials or something like that, who knows. Young adults, peter pans, kangaroo syndrome kiddos, you name it
- Man. My gorilla hands and that right detachable joystick. No way, so regular old controller (wiimote compat please!) for good ol' me. Not that I'll get one. Cool concept though!
- 2017: '''hey what's up twitch it's mitch on switch and today we'll be playing kill switch". My body ain't ready ;(

This does not even seem like something I'd have wanted back in my Nintendo fanboy days. It's closer to an Nvidia Shield than a traditional console.

Soooooo Manchildren basically?

The kind of people in their 20s-30s that enjoys kiddie things like Pixar movies and My Little Pony?
Its more gimmicky nintendo. Instead of making a solid console with great games, just throw out lots of gimmicks. I dont see nintendo lasting much longer. I know of 0 people who have a wii. I think most people forget they actually have a console still.

fortune_p_dawg: my favorite part is when the sports people give each other five
That rooftop scene. I. I... man, not in this world.
And why videogames gotta be a part of our daily lives in every single way**, from watchin' the setting sun to a simple bbq with the boyz and... *wait gotta finish this mario level while I take a dump* ;P

** reminded me when I saw, back in 2006, a japanese accessory like a ziplock or something that made gamers (gulp, here it comes) play their DS in the shower. YES. Just found the link. Gosh.
Only one word comes to mind when i see the switch and how gimmicky it is. And its this.

LOL
Daamn, and I thought I am a sorry gaming addict because I bring my gaming laptop with me to e.g. the summer cottage or abroad.

Those people in that video took that addiction to whole new levels, not being able to stop gaming for one second even when taking a dog out for a walk, or going to a friend's party across the street. Just have to play play play all the time.

Enjoy while you can, my puerto rican amigo. Picture a world where these dudes are parents ;P
Not dooming them, jk. They'll learn, as others did.
I hope!

Yep. From Zambia to Bulgaria, from Yemen to Guam. New kiddos on the bloco .P
At my early 20s I've went through three phases of gaming so far:

Kid (a little bit PC and mainly nintendo GBA then DS)
Preteen (dabbled in online PC MMOs, boy that was a dark hole era)
Teen (Playstation 3)
Adult (A bit of PS3, but heavily PC now)

I'll watch the video on the switch when I get the time/feel like it but meh. Nintendo had a lot of charm in early to mid 00s. As someone who never took part in NES/SNES/N64 era cause I was too young the early 00s was my time to enjoy nintendo and honestly...back then there was something magical about nintendo, getting a GB color and playing the 2nd gen pokemon games, discovering emerald/firered. Watching friends play metroid on their GBA. Then the DS came along and new super mario bros and pokemon mystery dungeon blue. Hell I remember as a kid getting all excited cause I subbed to Nintendo power for a year or two and they had sick posters in their magazines. Hell reading their columns where people wrote articles about games about to come out and read articles reviewing games was also exciting. Just reading the numbered ratings on games was interesting. I never owned a gamecube but just reading the mags made me want a gamecube super bad as a kid.

Nowadays? Too many bad consoles, this new gen might not bring nintendo back but the gen after could. Man they really need to bring back nintendo power that magazine had personality. Imagine if GOG had a "GOG power" monthly.

Then skip the real life.

Like the scene where the woman goes to a party... just to play her video games there... wouldn't it make more sense to just tell friends "sorry I can't come to the party, my grandmother just died so I have to play some video games at home"?

Smart Nintendo PR dude$, mixing people addicted to phones and stuff, folks who are always craving for new tech etc etc etc.
Not an exclusive ""feature""" for these millennial dudes, oh no. I knew a german dude in his mid 40s who took 139 (yes, one hundred and thirty nine) pictures of an ordinary mango tree, then to later on multitask like a maniac (I'd say he was octopussly-tasking, dude looked like he had 8 hands!) and sending them all to friends and relatives at the same time. A mango tree.
I couldn't keep an eye to eye talk with the dude and lord knows I tried.
Like this man there are millions out there. Don't know if it's a psychological condition or what, but he seemed.. troubled.

silent49: getting a GB color
Don't like this "kids today" thingy (it's always been the same way, but mocking's not that bad ;p) but this dude said it all!

I am saddend that guys born in the 1990s like me are consider millenials, I thought 90s meant Gen Y?

vicklemos: Huh.
Damn, now you made me wish Nintendo would have been advertising its own VR headset. That ad would have been hilarious in how everyone would have refused to take off their VR goggles, ever. Like that guy walking his dog would be wearing VR goggles all the time, or the woman going to the party.
