the.kuribo: Golf does lend itself to make for some really good games that are enjoyable for people who don't even like the actual sport. It might make for a good gateway sports-themed game to have come to GOG.

jackkkuyjuu: that is amazing man i just love your comment
Oh how helpful would a "report comment" button be...
FIFA has more in depth stat management than most games labeled as "rpg" these days, and I know there's a lot of people who love Football Manager but have never even seen a football match. But FM is a different beast. Some of the guys who are like "I had to stop playing FM because my wife threatened with divorce if I kept doing it" aren't necessarily lying.

I'm wondering if games like Football Manager might be closer to games like Drug Wars or Cookie Clicker than they would be to more typical sports games.
I'll give my opinion, though i doubt anyone cards. And thanks for bringing back a necro'd topic, though i doubt it makes a difference.

I don't mind sports games, that are done well. I played NES Hockey, Soccer, and a few others. Including Links Golf on MS-DOS. If you had say one version come out every console or every 5-10 years, fine i'd say.

I don't enjoy sports games and hate them on the other hand, when they push out yearly editions that have zero important differences, just having roster updates, minor graphical changes and little else. Feels like a cash grab, which is why i have and avoid them.

On top of that they've pushed to the 'pay to win' where you do loot boxes in recent years. Just makes me want them to go bankrupt.

Oh no, it's a managerial sim, a very deep and engaging one. As I said, I've met people that don't like football at all yet they love FM, which in a way could be a good sign of its quality as a game.
This thread could be summed up by this IT crowd episode.

Thing is, many incremental games, including Cookie Clicker, are actually surprisingly deep. You sometimes do have tricky decisions to make, and it's quite possible to make mistakes, and the math behind choosing the best course of action can get quite complicated.
