A game that is both pre-2k and 10+ years old gets added to both categories. A game that is 10+ years old but post-2k gets added only to the 10+ years old category. A game that is less than 10+ years but pre-2k gets added to the pre-2k only, but the 10+ years old in those 2 years aren't reported.
To find out if a game is older than 10 years, I subtract the original release date from GOG's release date and use the YEARFRAC function with parameter 1. If the result is 10 or more, then it's counted. So day and month are also counted, not just year.
There are four categories. Day One, pre-2K, 10+ and none of the above. Amnesia, Penumbra etc are in the none of the above category.
What kind of numbers were you thinking of? Number of games removed per year? Age of game at removal point? Something else entirely?

Not sure I follow since we're already in mid 2014, unless of course I completely misunderstand you. Could you give us an example, please?

His stats were starting in 2008, where "pre-2K but less than 10 YO" was still possible. Look at the stat for 2010, where one game is in that category.

While I think you are confusing it with another game, here is the complete list of all the GOG games that have been removed from sale.

Thanks a lot for the statistics! What do you do if/when remakes or enhanched/hd editions of classics come bundled with the original? What if we get the new version of Grim Fandango here and it comes shipped with original, is it then a day one release AND a 10+ year old AND a pre-2k release?

I take original release date from the gamepage on GOG. If we get Grim Fandango for example, and the gamepage states a release date of 14/02/2015, then that is the date I use.
DLCs and updates are ignored for now, whether the update is Alien Crossfire, The Whispered World Enhanced Edition or the splitting or adding of a game (Edna and Harvey or Dracula 4+5).

Another year, another update. Let's see what we had this year.

In 2014. GOG released 203 game titles (not including DLCs). First release was on January 9th, and last release was [url=http://www.gog.com/game/drox_operative]Drox Operative (and its ) on December 30th. Out of the 203 titles, <span class="bold">72 (35%)</span> were day 1 releases, with [url=http://www.gog.com/game/dreamfall_chapters_season_pass_special_edition]Dreamfall Chapters and just missing out on that list (released on day 2). There are a few more games that were released with a slight delay, those can be found in [url=https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=462A30A66DFFAD8B!1450&amp;authkey=!AEHvb2jp4HhupuQ]the spreadsheet.
We also had 32 (16%) pre-2K games released, while the total number of games ten years old or more is 41 (20%), with Hitman 3: contracts being released here 1 month before it reached the 10 years mark.

Compared with 2013, GOG released 13 pre-2K less (32 to 45), 18 10+ years old less (41 to 59), but 20 more day 1 releases (72 to 52) and 20 more games (203 to 183). GOG also started releasing movies, with the catalogue currently containing 45 of them.


And a quick sum of the GOG years so far

2008 had 65 releases, 29 (45%) of which were pre-2K ones.
2009 had 114 releases, 47 (41%) of which were pre-2K ones.
2010 had 79 releases, 35 (44%) of which were pre-2K ones, and 36 (46%) being 10+ years old.(Baldur's Gare 2: Complete being 10+ years old, but not pre-2K)
2011 had 85 releases, 48 (56%) of which were pre-2K ones, 57 (67%) being 10+ years old, and 1 (1%) day one release ([url=http://htt.p://www.gog.com/game/the_witcher_2]The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings[/url])
2012 had 160 releases, 48 (30%) of which were pre-2K ones, 64 (40%) being 10+ years old, and 24 (15%) being day one releases.
2013 had 183 releases, 45 (25%) of which were pre-2K ones, 59 (32%) being 10+ years old, and 52 (28%) being day one releases.
2014 had 203 releases, 32 (16%) of which were pre-2K ones, 41 (20%) being 10+ years old, and 72 (35%) being day one releases.
Total (so far) of 889 releases, 284 (32%) of which were pre-2K ones, 322 (36%) being 10+ years old on release, and 149 (17%) being day one releases.

Compared to the 07/12-06/14 period, in the last 12 months GOG released 69 more games, 14 more Day 1 releases, 3 more pre-2K ones, and 17 more 10+ years old.

GOG Released 128 games. Out of those, 58 (~45%) were pre-2K ones.

GOG Released 71 games. Out of those, 1 (~1.5%) were Day 1 games, 34 (~48%) were pre-2K ones, and 39 (~55%) were 10+ years old.

GOG Released 116 games. Out of those, 5 (~4%) were Day 1 games, 52 (~45%) were pre-2K ones, and 66 (~57%) were 10+ years old.
