Maybe Redline Racer? :>

This week's enigmatic hint is either painfully obvious, or ridiculously misleading.

Hmm that's interesting, it looks like the original US release of that was unlicensed and generic while the Euro release and sequel had Suzuki licensing so we MIGHT just get away with having that one at some point, unlike Criterion's 'Need For Speed' series for EA which always had licensed cars, shame the reviews seems to be saying its not up to Criterion's usual high standard though...

Doesn't explain the 'Boom' at the end as well and its been a WHILE since we had any Ubi Soft releases, you could argue that only means we're overdue for one though, I suppose...
It was indeed Redline.
Yup, it was painfully obvious indeed. Seems like GOG isn't ready to go cryptic on us, cmdr_flashheart.
a lot happened today and it looks like somebody forgot about hint :D

G-Doc:
Argh! Some kind of game released in 1992?
Ah, easy one... something with The Crucible by Arthur Miller?

Edit: Midnight Mysteries: Salem Witch Trials

or in 1653 ...... oh wait
First thing that came to mind:

Hexen?
Black and green always remind me of Battlezone but that probably ain't right.

So to summarize, I see a green picture with laboratory glassware, smoke and a code.

Something about a chemical reaction?

Edit:

If I take the letters of the numbers in the periodic table I get Sudeki.

What did I win? =P

Nice, that reasoning is just too perfect to be a coincidence. And looks like a cool game, too!

Can Sudeki, a 9-years old game, be considered a classic?
