But then we'll complain that GOG never releases any new games! :p

But that usually happens anyway, after a spate of old games, and then the trend reverses, etc. :-P

I am guessing it is next batch of EA games.
Including Dune, Red Alert and/or couple other games.
These guys were silent for long time.:)

It could be.. I don't know much about old games by bethesda or SSI. But if it is EA, I would also be happy as in "a lot of people"
I guess I'm one of the few that just wants new-ish games DRM free.

Hopefully there's something for everyone :D

I'm with you for the most part got Rayman 2&3 and they hold up well but some of the super old stuff with no art direction really doesn't hold up gameplay or graphics wise.

karnak1: Will we have a Hint before the "thursday deal"?
avatar
JudasIscariot: Not for this, sorry. I honestly can't come up with anything that someone wouldn't guess within two seconds :) It's quite a large event, in my opinion, and I think it will make a lot of people happy :)

Wait, I have a sort of Hint:

Come Thursday, we will be able to have a proper rebuttal to any and all "Why does GOG not release any old games?" threads....at least for a while :P
Quality, so that means on Thursday they will release every pre-2000 game in existence, confirmed :o)

Seriously though, really looking forward to it, there have been a lot of rumors about certain things so will be interesting to see what it is.
I wish by old games Judas meant games which were taken off the catalog and are making a return, fallout series. (Old as in longtime member on GOG)
The rebuttal could also just be a post about the company's decision to no longer release old games and focus purely on indies and AA games.

Barry_Woodward: I can't imagine a scenario in which the Gold Box series and the Eye Of The Beholder trilogy are not released on Thursday. Holy cheese, I'm excited! :D
Well there's 5 twitch release streams planned for tomorrow - assuming they'd only do one classic 'Gold Box' engine game and one Eye of the Beholder game then what are the other 3?

'Dark Sun' engine? Buck Rodgers? the DragonLance dragon flight sim? Spelljammer? the dodgy UbiSoft Pool of Radiance cycle re-boot that wiped HDs on uninstall? So many possibilities...

If it is SSI update, than maybe Panzer General.

Actually, the PoR reboot wasn't a bad game. Yes, ignore the whole HDD wipe bug, and also don't try playing with a party - can't move the screen unless all party on same for instance - and its not too bad. Wouldn't mind seeing that one.
So.... we'll see FOUR releases tomorrow + two more on friday?!
Gawd, we're doomed!!

Well, Shadowrun Hongkong is coming tomorrow, so one video may be reserved for that game.
Highly unlikely, but for quantity of games alone, the sega megadrive classics colection would qualify.
