No One Lives Forever published by Night Dive Studios?
Dark Legions (SSI - Ubisoft)?
Necronomicon: The Dawning of Darkness (Anuman)
Blade of Darkness (Codemasters)?
Black & White (EA)?
More Black Mirrors? Or maybe... Fade to Black?

zeffyr: Black Dahlia :-)
This would be lovely!

The-Business: Blade of Darkness (Codemasters)?
http://www.gog.com/forum/general/this_weeks_enigmatic_hint/post1686 ;)
A few people seem to be missing the fact that we have Blade of Darkness already here.

Since Nordic is still bringing stuff to GOG, I think Black Mirror 2 and 3 or Darksiders are all good possibilities.

Likewise, if Tommo has the rights to Veil of Darkness, I could see that happening. Or maybe Night Dive is finally bringing Dark Seed. The Void seems plausible although not terribly interesting to me.

Dead Space would certainly be nice, and we were shocked with SimCity 4 from EA, but I have my doubts.

Many of the other games mentioned are with publishers we haven't seen in some time, or are so high up on the wishlist I'd expect more hype about them.

Face Noir? (Published by Daedalic, who are on GOG; and the Noir bit is obvious; though there doesn't seem to be a Face connection.)

For an older option, Black Sect? http://www.mobygames.com/game/black-sect (According to http://www.mobygames.com/game/black-sect/trivia there is, technically, an English version.)

You're certainly not alone there. ;-)
Since all this groping in the dark seems to get us nowhere specific, perhaps a more measured approach is in order. There are 960 x 400 = 384000 pixels in the picture, which is approximately the averege distance between the Earth and the Moon (in kilometers). So something dark and moon-related, like Dark Side of the Moon or Black Moon Chronicles.
Perhaps The Darkness 2?

IAmSinistar: Viewing the file in a text editor reveals the word Ducky in the header.

If that's a game clue, then I'm fairly stumped by it. Darkwing Duck would fit, except it never came to PC and has licensing baggage.
Loved the NES game as a kid.

I examined the size as well, but didn't glean much from it, other than it roughly approximates the shape of those black bars they used to put over people's eyes in photographs to anonymise them.

Really a stretch, though.
Obsidian is jet-black. How about Obsidian (adventure/puzzle) as a possible candidate.
Looks like a monolith to me, albeit on its side. So, something from Monolith Productions?

Alternatively, something to do with space, odyssey, or both? :p

The image could be representing a blackout. If so, Blackout by Deadline Games would fit.
Wouldn't be surprised if Judas will post on thursday something like this:

Ups. Sorry folks; I forgot something ;-)
