JinseiNGC224: Of all the guesses, I would want this guess to be reality, and I would hope Civilization 2 would follow :)

Who owns the distribution rights to 1 and 2? Microprose is labeled on Wikipedia and Moby games. I know Firaxis and 2k own the later ones.

Grargar: I wouldn't be surprised if Take-Two had the rights to the whole Civilization IP. Microprose was purchased by Hasbro and Hasbro by Infogrames (now Atari) and I saw no mention of Civilization amongst Atari's auctioned IPs last year, so Atari must have sold everything regarding Civilization to Take-Two.

But I doubt it will be Civilization, as Judas didn't mention classic in his hint.
Exactly.

It's not Civilization. If it were, that would mean a new publisher, and if that happened, GOG would be doing an announcement about an announcement about an announcement about it.

My guess, Discovery: Steps of Columbus, is an Impressions developed title now likely owned by Activision. I could still be wrong, but I'd at least consider it a more likely a possibility...

As far as I can see you're typing in white, not blue. So I might be right anyways :>

Optimism, I like it :)

Also, if any new publisher came here we wouldn't necessarily get any announcement until the game actually showed up and surprised us all. It's happened many times before. Any getting Civilization titles is not out of the realm of possibility, even if it's unlikely.

I'll be happy with any game added. Discovery: Steps of Columbus looks really neat too :)

It would be really great though to see some big name deals go through for when Galaxy comes around. For instance, if we got the new up and coming Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth, that would be cool, even if I'd prefer to start with the older titles. For Galaxy to fully work it will need support for what's here, old and new, and also some newer titles to bring in sales.

Meh, I laid out my reasoning. When's the last time GOG did anything big without at least announcing it beforehand, if not announcing that they were going to announce it?

Heck they just announced a product in Galaxy that they don't even have a notion as to when the delivery date will be. GOG is never about complete surprise. They always tease...

I'd love to be wrong here. When was the last time that GOG "surprised" us with a new publisher, with anything, without performing a long tease about it first? Galaxy just got teased with no discernible delivery date. If they had a new publisher, especially someone like 2K, they would have teased it at the same time.

I'm not trying to be a downer, quite the opposite. People around here get their hopes up so much over the most unlikely of things and when it proves to be untrue they get all upset. Just throwing some realism into the fire.

Few months ago :-)
Nevermind.

My bet is on Tropico 4 and/or 5. (Please please please please please!)
Gosh, I hope you're right! Would love to see a Gold version, including all DLC, of Tropico 4 come to GOG!

I'm going to call out "no" on this just because we haven't had an Activision release in 20 months.
Exploration maybe ? But there is no classic word in tip. What I really like in this thread that you get a lot of interesting titles from other guesses.
We've got promo of Haemimont Games, so Tropico 4 became more probable I guess ;-)
I'll bet it's Anno 1602.
Maybe one of the Europa Universalis games?
I haven't seen this one mentioned yet - Empires: Dawn of the Modern World. 1492 could be considered the dawn of the modern world, right?
I checked the full poem for clues and came up blank, here it is, just to fuel more wild speculation though:

Meh, both Square and EA have had their first releases in ages recently though...

You guys are pretty good at getting my hopes up. =P Anno is a possibility (I would love to buy 1503), but I doubt we'll see any of the Paradox games on GOG at least until Galaxy is up and running.
